I agree chief! Maybe have BS wrestle Iowa Duals and maybe Midlands to see the result? If it helps the team great, if not nothing hurt?
I totally get what you are saying. This should be what is best for the University of Iowa, not any single wrestler however. That's why they are getting scholarships. Individual titles are great!, but ultimately it's all about team titles.Haha Knight...I was being sarcastic. At its core, wrestling is an individual sport and if Sorensen wants to stay at 49 because its best for him, then that's what should happen. Maybe next year with Marinelli not shirting...Vall, what the hell? Folks are up in here trying to take over the title brother.
Well only if Brody can make the cut and still have the energy to go hard for 7 mins. You did notice that Chance M. who never cut is no way going to perform like he is capable. Unless he fiqures out how to cut prober41 is right there for the taking this year. for us and nationally.

Where's Vallholl to suggest Kemerer to 141 (and add emojis as appropriate)? Hawknut, you beat him to it!I assume Kem can't wrestle 141, right? If he could, (which I assume he can't) he may be able to AA there this year. if the kid is ready, let him wrestle. I think anything 149 and under, a great true frosh can compete. You never know what will happen. But, probably needs to redshirt because there is no spot for him at 149.
As much as I'd like to see Kemerer at 141, that means it doesn't work for Brody. And I put a lot of internet effort into getting Brody to 141 as well as 7 pages of this board, so let's not bail on Grothus just yet.I assume Kem can't wrestle 141, right? haha. come on now Chief we all want Brody to cut to 141 for the team and last year before he got hurt he beat Sorsenson and Cooper.

EDIT - Vallholl joined the conversation as I was typing my original post. Good thing too, I was getting worried the space time continuum had been disrupted.

And I know that Paddock beat Bowman at 174, so don't go all "crazy" on that.Too all you guys cutting in my crazy lineup action I give you this emoji.
I guess I will have to work on getting Bowman to cut to 165. Or Austin Blythe. Don't make me go super crazy
But it's not...If Sorensen's weight is where he wrestles the best, than that is going to be what's best for the team versus moving up and possibly getting horsed out of an AA slot along with inserting Kemerer at 149 because he kicked ass this weekend. Remember last week and the video? Many were questioning the kid. Let's give him time to develop.
Occam's Razor...unless if Vall can come up with something really cool.
You know it's getting scary when Vallholl starts quoting and replying to himself! And I know that Paddock beat Bowman at 174, so don't go all "crazy" on that.
Paddock may be the answer at 165. He is in my normal lineup.
Discuss.

Chief I did not mean this year read that post again. I don't want them to wait till fall in 16 to wrestle off for 149 we need both of them in the line up
Brody is making that call. He could have wrestled off with Sorensen this year too. Sorensen has a decent shot at winning it all...IMO, he has two guys in his way. Hopefully, Sorensen moves up next year to 157 and Kemerer slides right in.
I read this too fast and thought you meant EB was going to 141 himself. But reading again, of course, EB is a team guy. He's helping everywhere.maybe Vall can clear this up, but did I hear that EB was personally working with brody to make the cut to '41 safe and healthy?
157 is where BS wanted to start out at in the first place, he was none to happy when Tom told him 149 is where your going to start out so there shouldn't be any problem or think BS would object to this. I remember this well when this came down. I agree with this lineup of Aschiefs.Gotcha...I think Sorensen would be probably be the best bet to move up next year. Something along the lines of:
125: Gilman
133: Clark
141: Turk/Ryan/etc
149:Kemmerer
157:Sorensen
165:Marinelli
TT, what does this mean? Why Turk? To give you the opportunity to take shots at Kemerer's abilities and character the first time that he fails to meet YOUR expectations?
Unless I fell for a massive troll job when I read his Sam Stoll thread, I didn't really appreciate what he said about Sam.TT, what does this mean?
I'm for letting Brandon Sorensen wrestle wherever he wants to wrestle. If that's at 149 for 4 years, then that's where I want him. I personally think he's got a lot more in him then he has shown. I just love what this kid brings to the table, I just wish he'd let it out. I think he's got Brent Metcalf type ability. I really do and I'm sure some or many will think I'm crazy, but that's what I think. He's got everything you need in his tool kit to be a GREAT wrestler, minus the "take your head off" mentality that he needs to make that next step.I thought all of this "bounce Sorensen up a weight" had been put to rest. Guess not.
Gotcha. I thought you were wondering why Hiwille was suggesting Turk in the lineup at 41, and I was struggling to figure out what that had to do with Kemerer at 49.Unless I fell for a massive troll job when I read his Sam Stoll thread, I didn't really appreciate what he said about Sam.

New topic: Medical redshirt for Grothus and he's the starter at 141 in 2016-17. Discuss.
