They had a stud receiver (hurt?) tooPlayed him, Jordan Cotton and Tyler Sash. We didn't win those games.
I hope he kicks assI always liked MM and hope he is successful and moves onto bigger and better coaching opportunities.
Yep James Hurt I believe. Had to defend him a couple times with a 5 yard cushion. Vandy-Hurt connection in 2006 won them the championshipThey had a stud receiver (hurt?) too
I get that. Really - I understand your point.
This is more about NOT wanting Jon Budmayr as WR coach.
At least Marvin..
A) played the position
B) was good at the position
Yet here we are with Budmayr somehow……
I know folks in Keokuk and they tell me this is definitely creating buzz.Keokuk will probably have more kids out for Football than they ever had.
As opposed to zero experience with Budmayr. His coaching experience includes part time experience at the D3 level and arena football.

As a Keokuk native, I agree with this.Keokuk needs all the buzz it can get.
Assuming you mean zero experience specifically coaching WR. Because that is definitely the only criteria to ensure a coach is successful.........As opposed to zero experience with Budmayr.
These are your words, not mine.Because that is definitely the only criteria to ensure a coach is successful.........
As a Keokuk native, I agree with this.
Was in the stadium and it was very loud until McNutt caught the ball and then dead silence except the Iowa section. In the " 7 got 6" game, I was in a very packed bar in Iowa City, and I vividly remember that the place got dead silent at the snap and for a second after the delivery it was still dead silent, like everyone was on pause and shock for a full beat , then the place exploded, pretty cool experience all courtesy of Stanzi and the new football coach for Keokuk. Good Luck Coach #7!
Don't believe he was a huge fan based on general comments regarding the offense on the radio and tv shows. Wasn't like BF is stupid or anything, but in general.Maybe Marvy will hire BF?
I'm watching the Parade of Champions at halftime of the Iowa girls high school basketball championship. Both Keokuk and Ottumwa are reigning state girls bowling champions.Knew there had to be something. Might ask the same question about Ottumwa, but don't want to derail the thread.
If Fry had done that KF would not be here. If KF had done that BF would have never been OC.Compare resumes.
It truly gets old. You can be a great player and be a horrible coach.
Me too....As a Keokuk native, I agree with this.
Keokuk? Seriously?I could see that turning into somewhat of a St. Louis pipeline for Iowa.
Like the one Andy Dufresne crawled through?I could see that turning into somewhat of a St. Louis pipeline for Iowa.
So McNutt takes a high school HC job 3 hours from St Louis and that turns into a pipeline of St Louis area players to a place where he's not a coach. Right.I could see that turning into somewhat of a St. Louis pipeline for Iowa.
I can smell the broasted eats served in the bowling alleys.I'm watching the Parade of Champions at halftime of the Iowa girls high school basketball championship. Both Keokuk and Ottumwa are reigning state girls bowling champions.

Ottumwa and Keokuk share the distinction of being the worst place in our state to live by far, with Keokuk taking the bottom spot. I couldn't imagine raising kids in either of those towns.Knew there had to be something. Might ask the same question about Ottumwa, but don't want to derail the thread.

FD is a tired town, but median household income is substantially higher, and the number of college bachelors, Masters and PhDs degree is significantly higher in Fort Dodge compared to keokuk. Also the average home value of Fort Dodge is singnficantly higher than Keokuk. Fort Dodge has a regional Medical Center affiliated with unity point. Keokuk has ZERO healthcare options as they don't have a hospital at all. Keokuk has no post secondary education and Fort Dodge has a community college. I've traveled the state of Iowa for 15 years, trust me Fort Dodge aint no Keokuk. It might be a rough town, but is nowhere blighted as keokuk. Statistics on the two can be obtained from Citidata.org.Ft Dodge says hello
Keokuk didn't used to be like this. It was a great town growing up. Hopefully, it can rebound.Ottumwa and Keokuk share the distinction of being the worst place in our state to live by far, with Keokuk taking the bottom spot. I couldn't imagine raising kids in either of those towns.
Keokuk has SCC (Southeastern Comm College). In fact, the women's basketball team @ SCC played their games @ the old Stritch High School when the program first started.FD is a tired town, but median household income is substantially higher, and the number of college bachelors, Masters and PhDs degree is significantly higher in Fort Dodge compared to keokuk. Born in 54 moved away in 74. Back in those days Keokuk was a great town to grow up in. When I visit now it saddens me what has become of it. Still have friends and family there. As a Keokuk native, I agree with this.
