KF on Gottlieb Show

I got to listen to this on my way home. Gottlieb started out asking coach what he thought of being on the "overrated" list. Kirk said he wasn't aware of the story and said people can think whatever they want to. Pretty much what I would expect him to say.
Gottlieb asked him what he thought about this year's team. KF said it was bad timing to ask him that today because he was displeased with practice today. Gottlieb asked him about the LB situation. He said Amani is "THE middle linebacker". He said there are four guys in contention for the other two spots and he expected that to sort itself out once the season starts. He referenced 2008 and Angerer taking until the fourth game to lock down his spot.
Gottlieb asked him his feelings about surpassing Hayden's win total this year. He said he looks back to games they could have won in past seasons so the discussion would already be over regarding the win total.
All in all it was a pleasant discourse between the two. I got the feeling Gottlieb truly respects KF.

Doug definitely likes and respects Kirk. He has said so on other occasions. He moved on awful quick after that first question. I do wish people would realize that Kirk also received votes for most underrated coach as well. The only, I mean only reason he is ever seen as overrated is due to his salary. I mean from like 2002-2016 only 7 programs had more top 10 finishes than Iowa. KF had 5 in like 14 or 15 years. This in a small Midwest state with another D1 program.
