Kittle and TE Recruiting

I read an article today about how the 49ers are high on Kittle for next year. He was the 9th TE taken, in the 5th round. He set a rookie TE record for the 49ers with 43 catches for 515 yards. Those numbers were second in the NFL for rookie TEs.

With Iowa's history of NFL TEs, Kittles success and Fant and Hockenson both headed to the NFL, Iowa can certainly make a claim to TE U. Hope the recruiting pipeline continues.

Yea. we need to take advantage of Fants success and the history of successful TE's at Iowa to grab another TE in Swarm19. We have a solid block first athletic guy in Lee, now we need a hybridized receiving weapon like Fant as the second TE in the class.

Only thing I would add to your comment is I hope Iowa can also take Chris Hickman. Nebby wants him at DE/OLB where Iowa sees him as another Fant type guy. 6'5"+ and 205 likely means a redshirt but the program does not need him to start right away. Winning games, placing draft picks and winning the John Mackey award is going to help Iowa 's calling card with TE recruits.

Hickman would qualify as a hybridized receiving weapon style TE I would like to see round out the Swarm19 TE group. I have not specified anyone because there have not been any major rumblings from the guys we have offered. Have not heard much from Hickman lately so if he schedules an OV or something maybe he's taking us seriously.
