Saw he was up there on stage with they guys and Trump. What's his story this year? Saw him a lot last year while Burak was dealing with injury and other spot starts. Is he hurt? If so could he get a medical 6th year like Huntley from Michigan got this year? I like the idea of both Wilcke and Holloway getting two years in the room before taking over the starting spots. Both those guys were multiple sport stars in high school and never wrestled year round, so that would give them more time to develop. Seems like you always see the lower weights more college ready after high school cause they are to small todo any other sports and end up wrestling year round.

Yes, he's been hurt. I don't know his plans, but theoretically, he could seek a medical redshirt.

Interesting idea.

Even then, question is whether he'd score more than 1-2 points at NCAAs, in which case Holloway would benefit from the extra year of experience in the lineup even taking his lumps.

If he is better than Holloway I would love to see him get a 6th year. Every points can help and the guy stuck it out for 5 years.

Klap is a pretty good wrestler. If he gets a 6th year, I would like to see him in the lineup. He has given a lot to the program. Holloway seems to be a great athlete, but has a ways to go as a wrestler.

I could see Klap as a qualifier, with an outside shot at AA. I haven't seen him wrestle a whole lot, but unless Holloway makes a big jump by next year, I think qualifying for the NCAAs would be an up hill battle. I hope he proves me wrong though.

No doubt, Jack, that Kris has given a lot to the program. He's worked his butt off for 5 years, transformed himself from a 174-pounder into a hulk of a 197-pounder to provide depth for the team, and filled in admirably when given the chance. He's a terrific young man. I wish Holloway nothing but success, but I'd love to see Kris come back next year and finish on the podium at Nationals.

He's no slouch as a wrestler -- he just happens to be behind a top-5 guy and probable 3x AA. I agree that he'd have a shot at AA status next year. He'd bring a lot of experience, some serious strength, and the heart of a lion to the table. I'd love to root him on for a full, successful season.

I'm not sure how much scholly money Klap absorbs but him staying a 6th year could have an impact on the incoming money.

If he were granted the extra year, I'd think it would be money well-spent if he'd give us our best chance at scoring points at 197. Considering that he hasn't been in the lineup consistently, it would have to be a limited amount and would probably be an excellent investment.

He came back from his mission where he did no training a svelte 240. Highly unlikely.
Wow - I saw the photos from when he came back and i thought 210ish. Can he run? Seems like a guy built like that should play football. as for no training - i'm sure you mean no wrestling training.
