I certainly wouldn't call them 'junk' points. A couple of nice baskets underneath even when he was completely behind the backboard. Nice jump shots from 10 feet or so. Those aren't gimees on our team (tho seem to be for opponents).Kriener is starting to remind me of a young Aaron White. Lightly recruited and plays with an attitude. Willing rebounder and adept at getting junk points. Loves to dunk on people, but can move out a bit and shoot a mid-range jumper. Good FT shooter. Going to be enjoyable to watch his progress
I'd say Pemsl fits the mold of Jaacks more so than Kriener.Kreiner reminds me of Jacob Jaacks.
There you go with the "jfc" again. Everyone is in titled to their own opinion..oh wait only yours matters, i forgot
Looks much better than Woody was as a Frosh. Not a slam on Woodbury, different type of players. He has an outside shot and is more agile and quicker.Ryan Kriener had his coming out party tonight against
Ohio State. He had a career high 14 points and made
some great moves in the post. At 6'9" and 247 pounds,
he also got 7 rebounds tonight. He does not ever force
his shot, but simply takes what the defense gives him.
Bottom Line: He is only a Freshman and will get
better each year at Iowa.
Now Fran has to find Dailey some minutes. Kid has a big upside on both ends of the court,Finally, Fran plays Kreiner. I have been screaming for this kid to get some playing time.
He is clearly are best post player offensively & defensively.
He ate Thompson's ass. 0 pts. & 5 fouls.
I loved that Moss was in the game in the second half too.
Jok being out forced our team to share the basketball and play as a team. This is the most complete game they have played all year and the did it to a team that came in winning the last 3/4 games.
Not so sure about Dailey. Kriener has looked pretty good every time he plays (except for getting his pocket picked several times, but strength will help that). I haven't really seen Dailey do much any time he gets in (tho to be fair, he plays so little I can't remember much about him other than is is EXTREMELY skinny). Now Fran has to find Dailey some minutes. Kid has a big upside on both ends of the court,
I felt this way a dozen games ago. Every time he got in, he produced. Not afraid to take a shot, and he makes a good chunk of them. He appears to hustle as best he can at his size. Kid can play. Don't know if he'll ever be great, but he'll contribute plenty. Pemsl and Cook have had some good moments, but overall Kreiner has been the better player, IMO.IMO he is the best 5 on the team at this point in terms of total game (scoring, rebounding and defense). If he keeps improving he will be a very productive player for Hawks!
Kreiner is a good low post center than can hit when facing the basket. Kreiner has shown the ability shoot and score with hooks and lay ups from both hands inside. RK has a very big frame and is just going to get bigger and stronger. He's already improving his rebounding positioning. As RK's body gets wider and stronger it will be progressively harder to get over or around him for boards without fouling. He's got nice touch and has shown the ability the pass it back out.
Much more skilled than Jackes, and much bigger.

Me too. But what I like more was watching Ryan and Cordell going WWE with Haas! Keep up the good work guys.I really like Kriener a lot.
I have heard that he is very young for a freshman. So I guess it's possible he could grow an inch or two to go with his long arms.Ryan Kriener had his coming out party tonight against

Fran will start cook he was promised that when he signed on just like Gesell and Woodbury were.
I love our bench and want to keep it that way but one of the big men are going to transfer unless Garza redshirts who I've seen video of is good but same kind of player as Kriener garza is not as quick he needs to redshirt next year.
Barring injury, I would be shocked if Garza redshirts. He and Kriener will make a nice tandem at the 5, while kriener will have the ability to slide to the four if needed. Transfers happen in college basketball, so the odds are strong that someone will depart after this season, it's just a matter of who at this point. Let the players decide it on the court, competition isn't a bad thing.
As for your comment about Fran making promises to players regarding starting spots, you're clearly making that up. Woody offered the best post defense we had from day 1 and Gesell was our best option at point from day one, seems pretty simple to me.
I think if they play at that level they will beat Rugters, Nebbie, and @ Minny.
