KU vs Clones

Does Prohm actually coach besides substitutions? Niang was telling him what play to call.

Kansas doesn't have much composure and their offense looks disjointed in the 2nd half. Aside from Ellis, I'm not too impressed with their talent.

Morris is a nice PG.

ISU is an inside, attack the boards team. Iowa is outside, movement offense and a much tougher team to beat considering 50% shooting for 50% more points. If we see them in the 8 or 16, we won't take our foot off the gas.

KU absolutely lost their shit after state made their first run. Credit to them though. They locked up their D and took over.

Kansas is not good. How they barely lost any ranking after getting crushed by Oklahoma State is mind boggling.

Can't wait til March, when Big 12 teams once again make their usual early exits.

Does Iowa State ever actually play anybody worth noting away from Ames this year? It seems like every time I see them playing they are at home.

Oklahoma will win it all, easily the best team in the country. You really think Purdue, Mich St or Indiana are going anywhere?

Well they've played at OU, and play at #5 Texas A&M on Saturday (ESPN wanted SEC-Big 12 challenge during conference season for some reason), and of course at KU, WV, and Baylor still to come. But it does seem like their conference schedule has been front-loaded with home games against the bigger teams.

I'm not dissing Iowa's accomplishments this year but they can attribute their rising most of their 6 spots in the AP this week to #'s 1-3-4-5-6-7-8 having one loss each last week with 6 of those 7 losing to unranked or lower ranked teams. I have been watching college and pro basketball especially stats for decades and I have never seen a week with so many losses in the same week at the top of the AP. If not for those losses Iowa would still be at #9 or close. A team can win both games and still fall in the standings and that's disheartening. I knew Iowa would greatly benefit from those losses. Each of those teams didn't fall very far but just allowed an opening.

It's just the way it is. Some weeks a team can have an extraordinary week and not get the benefits they think they should but as much as anything it depends on the teams around you.

Not being mean but just honest about Iowa's two wins and why the main reason they would not have climbed if not for the losses above. I doubt the voters would have given much merit to Iowa's 14 point win at Rutgers even with the win over Purdue when Purdue won by 50 at Rutgers earlier in the week.

Iowa greatly benefit from all around them and that is great for Iowa. Just don't be surprised to find as much depends on what every other team does that week. Some times the AP is a bonus and sometimes it's very disappointing.

Games and teams can be so strange from one game to the next.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, in fact, I agree with the general rule you are talking about. However, I think you can't discount what Iowa has done as well. It's not so much that they've gotten these wins, but it's how they've done it. They have destroyed all of these teams since the Iowa State game. So, in another year, I think Iowa still rises a lot. Not as much mind you, but rather than sitting at 9 I think they probably move to the 5-6 range.

Likely further than most/all Big 12 teams, as usual.

No, Oklahoma won't win it all. They'll lose when they actually face a team that plays defense, something Big 12 teams think is optional (both in football and basketball).

You realize MSU went to the final 4 last year with mostly the same players right? And they go to the final four more than just about anyone else right?

Saying anyone is easily the best team right now is just laughable and foolish.

That's cute, the B12 hasn't had a single team make it past the sweet sixteen for going on four years but each year their fans convince themselves that this is the year! Meanwhile, the B10 will put together another solid at worst tournament performance with at least one, maybe two Final Four teams per usual.

Man, ISU beats Kansas and the first thing these guys do is run over to this board to find justification. MSU beat Louisville, Providence, Maryland, and Kansas this year, they are good. Vue, one could also argue that the rankings fixed themselves this week, as a team like Iowa was rated too low with all their good wins, before the week even started.

Its Michigan State. Does anyone actually believe that somehow they won't be in the mix by the end of the year?
