Yep and he backed most of it up too. When Reggie Miller calls you the greatest trash talker of all time that's saying something.

Because Bird had average athleticism, though, people think it's LeBron James. Those in the know, however, will say Bird was the best at that position.

Only one of the great players from that era to be a successful coach and GM.
I'd put Larry at the top of the list with Jordan and Hakeem of guys from that era that could be successful in today's game. He was already a lesser athlete than most of his competitors so there wouldn't be that much of a fall off from that perspective. He would still be the smartest guy on the court at all times. That transcends timelines.

Joe Dumars should have coached. Won two as a player, one as a GM (one win away from two), and has been very successful in business ventures.

The Celts were lucky to have a couple of players the caliber of Bird and Hondo Havlecik...those two helped the Celts win a whole bunch of titles....and beat teams that we’re much better than the Celts.
