Nobody on this list comes close to what Lester was able to do at the point guard position. He was an absolute magician with the ball and when he did that little stutter and go no one could stick with him. Magic Johnson called him the best player he ever faced in college.

This. Ronnie Lester was the greatest with the ball in either hand. I've heard Murray Wier was amazing too but I never saw him play.

Sorry to say we really don't have a first class PG on the team. They all have their limitations and none of them are effective scorers. I hope the incoming recruit, Bowen, is the complete package, but I won't hold my breath.

Seems like joe has the ability to score more. His %’s are good. Fran apparently just feels like him playing handcuffed is effective for some reason. Frans treatment of joe last season and so far this season has been absurd.

Nah, his treatment from fran has been unfair. Right up there with Kris, the 2nd best player on the team, averaging a whopping 18mpg. Frans utilization of the roster this year has been beyond awful. Jbo is getting 20mpg more than he should be.

Well those are certainly the two best since our last final four team. Dean Oliver maybe. Gessel probably best of Fran’s. I remember Kevin Smith and Brian Garner both had ball handling skills, but nothing else. Joe T kinda reminds me of Smith, in that he looks the part, but doesn’t know where the hell he’s going usually.

I remember Kevin Smith to be super quick, but also a turnover machine at times because he was trying to go too fast.
