I just watched the Frontline from last year on Flint MI water - how the lead poisoning wasn't even the first identified problem, it was Legionnaire's Disease outbreaks. And all the MAGA-esque tactics used by GOP-controlled exec branch f****d those people over.

In retrospect, that looks eerily like the same stuff the federal government is doing on Covid-19. And I suspect the result will be the same: a LOT more dead and permanently impacted people (survivors who end up with lots of health problems).

Another example of complete lack of oversight and probably not coincidental that it is a Republican administration. But incompetence knows no individual political party. I just think the similarities then (locally) and now (nationally) are striking.

There are certainly enough reasons to do this and I believe that if Trump manages to steal the election in November but the House stays in Democratic hands you will see another impeachment trial in his second term. This time, they won't try to rush it though and would likely try to consume most of his second term forcing him to deal with it. They would force court cases on subpoena's and all these things they really should have done last time but didn't. Not that it would make any difference with this Supreme Court.

I can fess to this. This, alone, should be enough to squash support of him. The very people who support him are the ones who like to belch things like, “everybody should pay their fair share,” or, “why should I have to pay for someone else’s healthcare,” and the like. Meanwhile, Trump is a well-known piece of shit grifter. There is a thread in the Lounge about DJK. Among other things, it trashes him for trying to get out of bar tabs. I suspect some of those trashing DJK are, without any sense of irony, supporting/defending Trump.
