Legit/real or not, WH tweet leaks are fantastic entertainment...

This is very good, and worth a read:

All those enclosed spaces: meatpacking plants, prisons, etc spread the virus very quickly and efficiently. You'd have most of the people infected within a few days in those areas. For the rest of us, moderate social distancing is highly effective.

Not sure what this means for our fall sports seasons - likely sparse or no crowds, and any participate contracting the virus would probably cancel seasons entirely.

People think of cross country as wide open spaces, few people in those spaces. Ever seen the start of a race?

Fast forward to about the 2:20 mark

thanks for posting this - very interesting.

I’m thinking church, concerts, movie theaters, indoor sports- all done for until we have a vaccine.
I could actually see baseball and soccer moving forward, though.

Great article. It’s signals some optimism for outdoor sports with a very spread out crowd. Or maybe we just have to play on windy days :p

edit...deserves its own thread I think.

This is fundamentally false. Every state, early and later shutdowns, ALL showed dramatic economic drops BEFORE there were any government-imposed shutdowns. People stopped consuming out of concern of the virus spread. Until that is 'fixed', demand will remain low. There will be no NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB, NCAA, etc.

Lifting local stay at home orders won't fix this. Lowering the virus spread to very low and very manageable levels will fix it.
