+1 I rarely get worked up about announcers or care if they screw up names. Too busy paying attention to the game and not what's being said about the game, If we are on national TV, that's a good thing, names butchered or not.

Again, what does Gus have to do with levy? Should I like levy because Gus is worse at names? Moron can't keep up.
I really miss her references in game to Coach Fry who has been retired 16 years. That was classic last year.
Agreed. I was as impressed with his commentary as anyone I have seen in a while.
Guys like spielman and especially that former player that was a GM for the Lions (cannot think of his nsme for the life of me) suck. Edited: Matt Millen. He sucks bad
This guy gave great techical insight. Loved it.
Levy was drunk. Had to be. Mispronounced names and just made shit up. It was like he just wasn't interested in being there.
He has a good voice for it but is not good. Huard was very good

Well, for what it's worth, Ol' Doodle happens to think that Stan Levy and Brock Howard did a bang-up job announcing the Wisconsin Jumparounds vs. Iowa Buckeyes foosball game from scenic Middleton.
Well in podalek's defense we don't know how much he had to drink at that point and time.
Levy didn't seem to have a problem with the difficult Wiscy names actually seemed to be showing off
I thought Brock Huard was actually pretty good. It was obvious he watched film and knew what he was talking about. He did get repetitive though.

Thought Huard had terrific content but that Levy was trying a bit too hard. Thought Levy was a replacement. Probably short on prep time.
I think if the announcers bother people that much, maybe you're not paying enough attention to the game. Give me Beth, Pam, Brock, whoever, just want to watch football, and a Hawk victory. My basement was so loud most the time, could'nt really hear them anyway.
Yeah, I don't really get caught up in the announcers anymore. just know that they will be terrible, know nothing, and go from there. It does amaze me how bad they all seem to be though, seems like a good profession and one would figure you could find more good commentators then the very few that are out there.
I know a girl who hooked up with Levy in Vegas a few years ago. He told her he really just reads the script on Sports Center and doesn't really have a deep knowledge of sports in general. I was thinking that while watching so his performance didn't surprise me much.
Mayock is desperate for people think he has elite knowledge of the game. He tries too hard and comes off as a know it all...at least that's my impression
This. Call me sexist, but I just cant stand listening to either. They are the only times I even notice who is announcing a game.
