Small town Iowa does generally have good local bakeries! And sure, walking down the streets of most any small town in say, eastern Iowa, is full of street gangs packing looking to take you out for what's in your pocket. I was just there myself this past weekend and noticed how the kids playing in the streets were constantly running away from gun fire and the couples walking during the evening all looking over their shoulders. But I was in the poor section of town so I guess that was to be expected.

Yep, statistics like the mass exodus of rural America into the more affluent urban and (increasingly Democratic majority) suburban areas, or driving through the ugly and worn down Republican areas of rural NE Iowa, only tells a very small picture of these communities. Live near downtown in a city that is one of the most liberal in America, in a neighborhood that hasn’t had a Republican state Republican in 30 years, and yet the very WORST I’ve ever experienced (in a one that has about 20 times the people of most Iowa towns) is a stolen bike five years ago. I’m surrounded by hard-working, wonderful and helpful neighbors, despite your stereotypes. Thanks for playing.

No Trumpster wants to bring up St. Louis, Memphis, New Orleans, Indianapolis, or any of the worst in Republican states. I understand you didn't pose it to me, but the effects (economic mainly) of the virus fear started WAY before lockdowns. We were told to minimize travel, try and stay out of large gatherings, etc. pretty early on so there were dollars and cents being altered significantly prior to the shut/lockdowns.
