Libs -- Trump or Cruz?

Now, certainly Trump has been way crazier than Cruz during the campaign. Which is a pretty high bar so jumping it is quite an accomplishment. And while all politicians have a tendency to somewhat "massage" the truth, Trump has shown a willingness to lie at a scale never before even imagined.

But if one of the two were actually to become President, which one would you prefer it to be? Personally, I think I would prefer Trump. I say this because I don't believe he's really as dumb as he sounds. I think he's playing to his crowd, and in all seriousness, Trump supporters are really, really stupid. I suspect if Trump were President he would still be a blowhard when he's talking, but when it came to anything of substance he would probably be rational.

Cruz says things that are not quite as crazy, but the frightening thing about Cruz is I'm positive he believes them. I have no faith that he would behave like a responsible adult given the reigns of power.

I am probably a lib-leaning moderate. I never thought I would say this but I would prefer Trump.

Trump is goofy, bordering on nuts. Cruz is just plain scary. I can't see either one of them as a the leader of the free world, but I guess I will take goofy over scary.

Cruz is Joe McCarthy reborn with a scary religious fervor. With the power of the white house, he could really do serious damage to the country.

Either would be a disaster as president, but I'd have to reluctantly agree with the others that Trump would be the lesser of the two evils.

Another Trump over Cruz vote here. I tend to agree with the OP. Cruz is a dangerous ideologue. Trump is his own man and is willing to rebel against Conservative positions, and call out those in his own party for their stupidity. A Cruz presidency would be a return to waterboarding, Abu Ghraib, jingoistic, ham-handed, and dangerous foreign policy.

I'm with the consensus on this one. Cruz is just plain evil/scary. I think even his family is a little bit afraid of him. That's probably not a good sign.
