Overrated? Was he even rated? I don't recall Logan Ryan being a highly rated recruit. Someone help me out here since I don't always have the best memory for these things.

Gross left school, Turk is injured and Grothus is also injured, coming off surgery. That's how you get to where we are today. They aren't going to make a call on Turk until they know about Brody.

2x class 3A state champ and a junior freestyle AA. Pretty dang good if you ask me. In reality though, you are right. He wasn't a Stroker type recruit.

I didn't say he was a highly rated recruit. I said that's pretty dang good. If you want to get technical he was the #62 recruit.

Logan Ryan = Mike Kelly part 2. But who could have seen this coming lol.

Neither should have ever been a starter at Iowa other than by default. Both highly overated coming out of high school. neither have a sliver of offense, even in high school really. At least Mike had a bit of heart. Logan should have been called for stalling in the 3rd even while he was down.

I dont know about some of you but i get tired of all the folks who are to close to these kids to see them for the wrestlers they really are. This thread is full of those types severly overestimating who Logan Ryan is as a wrestler. Some of you consider them insiders which is hilarious. Please let Turk get healthy or Brody get down. And yes pull Turks shirt unless Brodu is for sure getting down. Turks shirt doesnt matter at all with Happel coming in. And even at that if they dont pan out we should be able to over recruit on them in 2 years if they are. This is Iowa, always should have a legit stud 141. From Jeva to this now is kind of reflective of the bad recruiting in the past that is still biting us. So yes, Turks shirt IMO doesnt mean crap right now. And if Turk is the real deal then he can use his shirt later on and allow Happel to be 141 while one of them works on a possible 149 jump in size.
