Chicago shootings: At least 18 shot, this weekend gun violence across city, police say.
CHICAGO -- At least 18 people have been shot, one fatally, in weekend gun violence across Chicago, police said.
Five people were shot early Sunday after an argument in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood, according to Chicago police.
Two men were arguing in the 3500 block of West 30th Street in Little Village at 3:38 a.m., according to police. During the argument, an unidentified man pulled out a gun and started shooting, then drove off in a white van.
People that were in the surrounding area were also shot, including three women, ages 22, 30 and 48, and a 53-year-old man.
So far nobody is in custody.
A man was shot during a robbery Saturday night in East Garfield Park on the West Side.
About 11:50 p.m., the man, 35, was in the 3400 block of West Huron Street when he was approached by two attackers who took his belongings and shot him when he began to flee, Chicago police said.
No one was in custody.
Just an hour earlier, a woman and a man were shot Saturday night in a gas station parking lot on the city's West Side, according to Chicago police.
The shooting happened at 10:50 p.m. at the corner of Ashland Avenue and Van Buren Road on the Near West Side.
Police continue to investigate.
A man was found shot to death early Saturday in Little Village.
He was found at about 6:45 a.m. in the 3600 block of West 26th Street, according to the Chicago police, who said he had gunshot wounds to his head and back.
No other information was initially available.
At least five other people have been shot in Chicago so far this weekend, police said.
Last weekend, at least 10 people were shot, two fatally, in shootings across Chicago, CPD said.
