and at the Mecca of college football, Nebraska/Wisc. tickets for $4. 50 yard line seats for $18.They'd rather not have the stadium flooded with Iowa fans and create a very embarrassing look. Right or not, that's their logic.

I'll bet they somehow "sell" them all...and at the Mecca of college football, Nebraska/Wisc. tickets for $4. 50 yard line seats for $18.
The only true “streak” Nebraska football has is the big brown one in their underwearI'll bet they somehow "sell" them all...
The list of excuses Goophers use is long and largely BS. As you pointed out there are more people within a 1 hour drive of the U of M campus than in the entire state of Iowa. The Goophs are the only P5 team so no split allegiances like with Iowa, ISU.Yeah, I know.
But the school has 20k more students than Iowa and therefore a ton more alumni. The stadium is in a metro area of 3.7 million people compared to 450,000 in the CR/IC Corridor.
And, they have a brand new stadium which is pretty great.
So, they love the Vikings and hockey. They still can't find 50k fans to go the games?
