Iowa City West just got a little bigger. 49ers picked him up off of waivers. The Bills had hoped to resign him to their practice squad.

I just read a couple days ago in an article how impressed the GM was on how prepared CJ and GK were for NFL.
Might as well change their name to the San Francisco Hawkeyes. I could see them picking up Jewell too in next years draft.

These Iowa OL are good but think CJs's groin twinges recalling the awesome Iowa protection it enjoyed.
More likely that they grab Welsh. Maybe 3rd or 4th round. Their OL seemed to be blocking pretty well, from the highlights I saw. Not sure where all of their needs are. Since they are 0-6, probably everywhere.
I wouldn't be surprised if they go get HKC as an additional TE. Really surprised he hasn't stuck somewhere. Maybe CJ and George put in a good word for him. It isn't like it would cost the 49ers very much.

Being a devout 49er fan, the more Hawkeyes they sign the better for me. Now that CJ is starting, I have a reason to watch them weekly on my NFL Anthom kneeling Sunday ticket. Still annoyed about the kneelers, but will sacrifice to watch CJ. Now if the Niners can only draft the Outlaw in next years draft.
I admit that I have lost track of HKC, but wherever he landed after the Broncos, I was under the impression that he was a practice-squad guy.

He was signed 2 weeks ago. Their starting TE has/had a concussion. He originally made their practice squad but was cut from there at the end of September. He is credited with having played one game (last week) with no stats.

When I was at Simpson College in the 70's, I happened on a brass imprint with a quote from George Washington Carver: "At Simpson College I discovered that I was a human being"; and used it on every piece of recruiting material from that day forward. I'm thinking that the Bill Parcells quote might be just as powerful for the Hawks' recruiting material: "You gotta go where they make 'em."
Grew up a 9ers fan, but moved to the Midwest and became a Bucs fan because of MYFA. Now I'm back out in Cali, and my love for the Bucs is dying. Just at the right time to pick back up my 9ers love. Next pay day I'll buy CJ's jersey.
I've been looking up CJ Jersey's online, so it won't be long till it hangs in my closet next to my Montana and Steve Young Jersey's. I also have Dan Marino's Jersey as well, so CJ's Jersey will be in good company. Boxed up I have an old Tavian Banks Jags Jersey and Tim Dwight's Falcon Jersey.
$99 the last I checked on nflshop.com Wanting to get it from there so I know the quality is nice. There's a couple knock off sites I know friends have used before but the quality sucks and the shipment comes from the middle east or eastern asia so it takes forever.
I wouldn't judge them completely by their record. I think they have some good young talent and I like what Lynch has done, he knows his stuff.
They have lost their last 5 games by a COMBINED 12 points and could very easily have won all of them. They have difficulty closing games.
They need a major upgrade at WR and secondary but I really hope CJ wins a few games and grabs the job for good. If not, I fear the 49ers will draft over him next year.
Can't wait to watch CJ's first start on Sunday. Would be so cool to see an Iowa QB succeed in the NFL.

Pretty cool for these cousins! I'll bet its fun if they get together over a holiday with George's dad, Bruce, (himself a hawkeye captain). Weren't both of their moms Hawkeye athletes as well? I wonder if Jess Settles gets invited to those shindigs?
Is that for the print numbers or sewn on numbers? Mine are all print, but would love to have the authentic CJ game Jersey, especially if he ends up being Joe Montana 2. LOL
I was laying on the couch with the Niners game on last week, playing on my Tablet when I heard the announcer say CJ was coming in. I had that Tablet off and glued to the set the remainder of the game. CJ looked good, made some rookie mistakes but moved the team. Every other player seemed to play harder and better once he came in. He is not flashy but makes plays, just like ole Montana did. Hopefully he can take control and be the Niners long time QB.
The 49ers must be shooting for .600 football with adding all of these hawkeyes.
Aren't these women related to Settles mom as well. I thought that was the story and that they were all cousins in some way.
