McCarthy will now finally win the speaker position and end this embarrassing republican dumpster fire. God help the government that has to rely on a House of Representatives led by this divided, embarrassing unethical group of anarchist enablers. The Republican members that exactly two years ago voted to subvert the constitution and not certify the election have put on quite a show. They must, and their followers must be so proud.

Their votes lowered the threshold required for McCarthy to win by making it easier for him to get a majority of those voting for a candidate.

He is wrong, as he sees it now playing out on TV. Present vote lowers the 218 number needed. 216 was enough.
Which I get the thought as to why. If you have people voting present that majority would still be x out of x voters. Absent would lower the required number and present shouldn’t. Anyways it’s over now lol
But no matter, it was a shit show... And we will see lots more of it during their two year reign.
I'm not so sure. What I know about Republicans is they are relentless. They will spend the next two years investigating everything, distorting the findings, and using that to keep their base energized. If you can go into an election with your base energized you're halfway there.
