I live in Gaetz district and I don't understand why he keeps getting elected. It's actually not a bad place to live. Beautiful beaches, large Navy population (Who I don't believe is able to vote for this district's representation) who actually makes the area feel fairly diverse at times. BUT the locals are about as MAGA as MAGA can get. They like that he makes the libs cry and they believe most of the conspiracy nonsense.
It is a great area to live in and mostly really good people. But there is a reason Pensacola and the surrounding areas are often referred to as Lower Alabama, and it is not just because of proximity.
That's even more true in the more rural parts of the western panhandle like where I live. You don't have to search long to find a Trump 2024 or FJB flag flying in someone's front yard.
There are no moderate Republicans on the national stage. Not one. Not even Mitt can be counted on. There are the wing nuts and the HFC that runs that shit show now.
