My biggest concern is the house is paralyzed and because of it the government is shut down til after the elections.

McCarthy will run again and make concessions to the Democrats for their vote. Weakening the crazies even more. At least I hope.
It had to come to come to a head at some point. No one can predict what the future will bring but this had to happen. Extremism is with few exceptions a fool's errand. These nut cases have an Orange leader handing on by his fingernails to stay out of prison and alive. He is nearing 80 years in age and is a fat slob with a short fuse.

I don't think that will work. He reneged on a deal with the president. The dems don't trust him.
They might be able to find a member of their caucus the dems do trust to make a deal.
But there are issues with that as well.
1. Making a deal with dems would only inflame more R's against them.
2. It would be a big political embarrassment to need Dems help to govern.
3. Because the rules allow a simple majority to get rid of the speaker as well, the new speaker would have to rely upon the support of Dems just to keep his job. So he would continuously be at their mercy in any negotiations.
So the 200 plus Republicans have to essentially decide if Gaetz holds them hostage or the dems do.
The GOP can f#ck up a two-car parade. Petulant children in suits.

Well Gaetz is all over TV showing his forehead trying to act like he cares about deficits. Temporary power. His forehead is almost as big as his ego. All will prove these people can't govern or legislate.

Neither Boebert or Green voted to oust McCarthy.
