McCarthy repeatedly lied to all sides and made promises he couldn't keep to all sides.
The speaker needs to be someone you can trust in negotiation. McCarthy is not that.
I have to imagine that Jeffries considered this when he led the Dems to vote against McCarthy.
You know what sucks for McCarthy? The knowledge that 50 to 100 years in the future his name will likely be the answer to a trivia question about the only speaker of the house to ever be forced out via a motion to vacate.
