*****MAGA in disarray, who will be speaker of the House***** McCarthy REMOVED! Jim Jordan 0-3. Election denier Mike Johnson confirmed. Vote them out

McCarthy need D votes to keep his job...
Then he should have met with them to put together a coalition with "moderate" Republicans (it's difficult to even type that) rather than telling the Dems to "fvck off but you need me". But keep cheering your team on...they might find their asses with both hands any day now.

I'll go on record right now. If Jim Jordan somehow becomes Speaker . The tenure won't last more than a couple months. Jim is a cheerleader. Simply doesn't possess the skills for the job.

How many Dems do you think will vote for Jordan?
They won’t.

The Gaetz crew might be on board with him.

Vast Majority of R’s would have gladly taken a couple D votes to keep McCarthy.

Now? They’ll want the NEW speaker to be all R votes. Which means someone palatable to the Gaetz crew…

Maybe get the one idiot rule tossed as well.

Both Sides Bins, the hard right centrist, is trolling Bigly with the blame democrats for everything always routine. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt because he seems like a good guy but his act is too transparent and too repetitive.

Are you willing to admit that the Rs have turned the House into a shit show yet?

So if we were doing just the facts, it would be Republicans fault that Jim Jordan would be speaker because they would be the only ones who voted for him, or is that not right?

Absolutely.

It’d also be a FACT that they wouldn’t have the vote if the D’s didn’t vote UNANIMOUSLY with Marty Gaetz.

Hope D’s are happy with what comes out of it….

Hope it’s worth owning the R’s for a couple weeks

Gaetz and Co expected the D's to vote with them to remove the speaker because that is what any house minority would do unless you give them a damn good reason not to. McCarthy didn't.

That's why this 1 member rule was so important. Because all it took was 5 Republicans to get fed with with McCarthy.

Sure.

You willing to admit the D’s voted unanimously for the current situation?
Um, no. I already covered this. Dems didn't elect Kevin, create the one vote rule, or use the one vote rule. The Rs did all this. They can't govern. No other Speaker took 15 tries in the last 100 years to get elected. No other Speaker had such weak control over his members. No other Speaker was removed under an insane one vote rule created by Republicans. That's all on the Rs. The Dems had a highly functioning House under Pelosi. The Rs have a literal non functioning House under McCarthy. How you blame the Dems is beyond reason.

The “good reason not to” is avoiding the current situation.

I know facts are hard for you.

210 Democrats voted with Matt Gaetz and seven other Putin stooges to toss McCarthy.
It is not the Dems job to vote to retain a Republican leader who has consistently lied to them, moved to impeach their president for no reason at all, and flat out said that he would do nothing for them to retain him. That's all on Kevin.

dude, take the L

This is an R problem. They have the House, its not the Ds problem to select the majority leadership.

Youre just pissed that this whole thing is going to showcase how big of a clown show the GOP really is

Fact it's not the oppositions party's job to elect the leadership of the other party. If the Dems had saved Kevin. It would have only been a matter of time before he would have been ousted for something else. With the one vote rule in place.
Eventually Kevin would feel the Dems had to vote for him and pushed the envelope. Kevin offered them nothing for their votes. If his offer is nothing what will be the offer when it gets called again.
Honestly Kevin's entire goal appears to be just to have House Speaker on the resume. Now he can retire and cash in on all those sweet post government consulting gigs.

McCarthy would have gotten worse after saving. He was already moving hard right before Gaetz kicked him in the nuts. But after he would have been right there with the MTGs, Matts, and Boeberts, trying to fend off another vote to oust him. There is simply no way the Dems could vote to retain such a reckless and dangerous leader.

Politics is all about timing. There could be an entire different group of Republicans from let's say Texas. That get furious for a few days with Kevin. They could call in as well and join the dumb, dumb caucus. It would be a neverending problem until Kevin was 86'd.

They know the Dems have the backs of the Matt Gaetz 8 after what happened to McCarthy.

They have to work with Gaetz and crew now for sure. No way around it now.
You're down to spewing pure nonsense now. Jordan and McCarthy are the same - terrible. The republicans now have a chance to make a better choice. You and others trying to make that out to be a fault of the Democrats is absurd.

Your full righty leaning is showing through more clearly than ever.

Oh FFS, this is exactly what I'm talking about. Republicans are a force of nature, or a small child, they can't be held responsible for anything, it's always on the Democrats, always the Democrats fault. Always the Democrats responsibility.

Republican dysfunction will be all Biden's fault which will then become a reason to vote Republican in 24 because Biden and the Democrats can't solve Republican dysfunction. Madness.

If there are any responsible Republicans left, they should help elect a Democratic speaker of the House and end this. I'm sure the Democrats would be willing to enter into some kind of power sharing arrangement, this is what corporate media would be demanding if the shoe was on the other foot, "childish Democrats have illustrated once again they can't govern....blah blah blah", they can't get their act together so responsible Democrats need to cede power to Daddy party Republicans blah blah blah......"
Republicans are like a spoiled toddler in the immediate aftermath of a major tantrum. “Mommy how dare you let me flail around and make a fool of myself! Also, I pooped my pants in the process. Why haven’t you wiped my butt yet?!”

Oh absolutely. They put the stupid rule in place.

But here’s the thing..team blue pretends to be the party that puts country before party. Country first, team politics second.

Question: Other than owning team red what was the upside of voting out McCarthy for the D’s. Specifically for the country.

I can’t think of one…can you?
Got it. It was the Dems fault that Kevin McCarthy handed Matt Gaetz a loaded gun, and then looked on in horror as Gaetz shot him with it.

Agree.

After voting unanimously to oust him the D’s don’t get to bitch about what’s going on now though. They voted for this.

You didn’t answer the question in my post.

Other than owning the R’s, what was the W for the country here? How is the current situation better than before he was tossed?
