I worry that our B1G teams will be penalized by the officials for their tough, aggressive style of play. We are not a finesse league. I worry that legal elbows and fighting for loose balls will be whistled as fouls. And I worry that officials may disrupt the flow of the games with frequent foul calls and monitor reviews. Let our players play!

I’m always worried about how they call the game concerning Luka’s elbows. If I’m an opposing coach, I want volunteers to put their nose into Luka’s business every rebound.

Its not like the B1G became a tough, aggressive style of play league this year. Its been this way for a few decades at least, especially once Izzo joined the league in the mid 90's.

Seriously? More reviews then the last several Iowa games? How would that even be possible?

I worry about one 10 to 15 minute stretch of bad basketball that ends this great season.

This team has been fairly, but not completely, immune to long stretches of poor offense. With consistent 45 to 50% shooting they can hang with or beat anyone, one half of 35% shooting against some of the best competition in the country can bring a quick, unceremonious end to an otherwise great season.

Here's to them firing on all cylinders at the key times in the next three weeks!

Some of these small conference teams that had interruptions in their season, so didn't play many games. And, end up winning their conference tournament. Iona as an example. I'm a bit concerned that if Iowa gets a 2 seed, some of those teams may be coming in very under-seeded compared to the normal 15 seed range. But that's not a huge concern.

I worry about some guard getting into the paint at will. Also worry the Hawks could have a cold night shooting. That's about it.

College refs suck every game so I'm not worried about that. If you want to watch refs do their job properly you have to watch an NBA game.

Great news though is it should help us. We are not a rugged team IMO and we do much better when they are allowed more freedom of movement. The amount of holding by MSU, WIS, MINN, PSU do is obscene.

Or, maybe if Big 10 officials called the game properly Big 10 teams would be better prepared to play in games where the officials actually call fouls.

I've Always worried about the change in reffing styles by different conferences. The big ten is known as a rougher league but it can be hard to adjust to different officials. By the time the players adjust maybe Luka has 3 fouls and

Iowa seemed to do just fine in the preseason without the damned B10 officials. I imagine Iowa will have an easier time either getting freedom of movement or collecting a lot of fouls. Some of those 15-point wins probably would have been 25-point wins if officials had called the games properly.

I don't care who the refs are they can't be any worse than Bo Boroski and Little Larry Scrotum.
