I'm about 83% in agreement with that.
Easily mocco. Spencer will be a 125. Mocco had him by about 150 pounds.

What 20 year olds don't realize, they can't give advice based on their own experience, because they haven't been around long enough to have any experience. When your 20 years old you don't know squat. You think you know squat and there in lies the problem. At 20 years old you don't understand that you don't know squat.
Generally that is true. Does not apply here because he just had the particular experience he is speaking about and won't have it again later in life; although he may reflect on it differently down the road.
That said I have to think because he was so coveted that his recruitment experience was different than 83% of blue chippers who themselves are better than 83 of the top 100 recruits yearly.
From my limited encounters with him he's respectful, seems to get along great with his peers and is overall a good kid so I hope this isn't taken the wrong way. Reading his blog I can see why PSU fans like what he wrote so much. Match made in heaven. The air up there....
I will give it to him for putting himself out there in a blog for everyone to read and critique. That is not that easy to do for anyone of any age. But like Papabear stated, I am not sure how much the vast majority of future recruits can take from his experience. If you are a 1 time state champ from North Dakota and you are on your 2nd visit and you love the place and they offer you a great deal maybe you should jump on that. Most recruits are not getting the Mark Hall treatment and I doubt the next 3 places this kid visits are going to be having them meet Lebron and President Obama on their visits.
And what if you are one of the very few kids that will ever be in Hall's boat? What if you are Spencer Lee and you are very familiar with all of the schools you are interested in? Maybe you are not interested in meeting Presidents of a university you are not going to attend or becoming close to a bunch of guys on these trips that you are eventually just going to be competing against or putting on an act for a bunch of coaches knowing full well you are not going there and you waste everyone's time. Committing a little early is not only very respectful to the coaches that missed out on you but it also lets your own team refocus on their other needed weights.
Heck if Iowa knew 100% Spencer Lee was going to go to Iowa it would have been much better for them if he waited til spring to commit. I guarantee PSU would have had a much harder time landing a quality alternative like Dayton Fix if he did.
This article felt to me like him trying to get something off his chest. Maybe he is getting some blow back from people he thought he was close with for leading some of these teams on and he wanted to justify himself. He does seem like a kid that wants everyone to like him and him catching any flack may be eating at him. Or maybe this is just a hit piece that Cael is nudging him to write to try and influence guys like Lee, Teasdale and Yani to take their visits.

The piece came out after Daton's visit to PSU. They probably talked about Daton joining him at PSU. He MIGHT have felt after their discussion Daton was going somewhere for the wrong reasons and felt it was necessary to let others know how he felt about the whole recruiting process. Pro and Con. Basically helping the younger guys out. Nothing more. This slamming of Mark is beneath you guys and I'm pretty sure if he would have landed at Iowa It wouldn't be mentioned.

Slamming of Mark? I read some positive replies and some negative ones. It's a message board. Kind of like after Spencer and Gavin committed to Iowa. Gavin was too young and verbal commits don't mean sh*t...except when they commit to your school (insert any generic school, not PSU specifically). Many made fun of Lee's list. Spencer too, addressed his recruiting...especially negative recruiting. But he didn't, if I remember correctly, impart "life lessons" to his peers.
I have no problem with Marky's letter. If it is as you say, written with Daton in mind, than don't you think it's an attempt at swaying him...in an indirect way? I don't know if it is or not...just going with your thread of thinking. All of that said, every thing I have seen or heard about Mark Hall is that he is a good kid. He has been around the game longer than your average wrestler...having traveled all over the place and met many coaches and getting hit on like the only chick on a boat of sailors.
Mark's letter appeared the week after he announced. It was reposted in a PSU thread about Daton this week.
I mean, sure, the letter comes off as really self-involved....but I was REALLY self-involved when I was his age. I won't hold that against him, not that he cares. He's going to be awesome, wish he was a Hawk.
ETA: It's also worth noting that my favorite Hawkeye of all time used to occasionally speak about himself in the third person. It's not a big deal, adds some flavor to the competition.

I don't see any slamming of Mark Hall in this thread. Like Chief, I see some who take exception with his blog and others who don't. More than anything, I see a lot of humor. I think most Iowa fans in the thread saw an opportunity to have some fun and joke around.
I think visiting fans would do well not to take themselves or Iowa fans' posts too seriously. Most of the time, we're kidding. See, it's all about having fun at Iowa.
