Maryland-MSU

ESPN is quickly gaining a deep pool of basketball announcers and color men that know absolutely nothing about college basketball. That sideline reporter was smoking tho, they do a good job of getting those.

Did I miss something? Wasn't that Seth Greenberg? Hansen sometimes I wonder about you.

From the way I took Bilas' comments, He hasn't actually seen Iowa play, He used the injury card for his justification of picking MSU. Just listening to the halftime dude's on ESPN, (Cal/Arizona), MSU is now a #1 seed contender, anyway after this one game MSU supposedly has it all figured out and are going to go on a huge run. Gotta wonder, Do you suppose if Iowa were to lose to Purdue at home and then beat Maryland at Maryland that they would get a pass on their ONE loss? You know since MSU is getting a pass on their 4 losses, Yeah I don't think so either................

When I heard Bilas' comment, I felt like he had actually forgotten about the Hawks. When Shulman asked about Iowa, it kind of seemed like an "oh yeah, that's right" moment.

And to his credit he did talk up the Hawks and Uthoff quite a bit.

Is it generally supposed that Stone is a one and done?
I've seen him in the mid to late first round in a few mock drafts. Turgeon is doing a good job keeping his draft stock as low as possible. I haven't heard if he intends to jump to the NBA or not. There actually seems to be quite a few bigs this year. Even a guy like Devonte Davis for MSU is higher on draft boards because of his "potential" and athleticism.

Let's not get too far ahead. Every game is a huge if we're gonna try to win the league. Tomorrow is an absolutely huge game. Chance to sweep MSU AND Purdue in the first 7 games would be absolutely enormous. Have to protect Carver tomorrow and then we can worry about the terps.

I usually like and respect Bilas as an analyst, but this wasn't a good game for him. In fairness, he said that he thought Maryland and MSU would be the two best teams "in the end" or some similar comment. Come tournament time, who knows. I think Iowa, Maryland, IU, MSU and Purdue will all be there, and probably at least UM. The result was what we wanted, so there is no reason to be unhappy. Great game by Costello. Mary Land's bigs do not play very good defense and were awful on the boards.

Hawks win versus Purdon't and/or Mary Land, and we are in a very strong position. We need Wisky to bring IU back to reality.

The butthurt among Iowa fans over any perceived national slight is just pathetic.

Get the sand out of your vaginas.

Moreover, please don't try to use our football team as a reason why the basketball team is "legit". Some here won't get that, but our football team is the equivalent of Indiana basketball this year in that they've beaten who they've played. We shall see when it is all over who belonged.
