Maryland vs. Penn St

Whatever happened to Chol Marial, that 7’2” Sudanese phenom at one time on Iowa’s recruiting radar? See he’s on MD’s roster but not playing. RSing for some reason perhaps?

Maryland starts slow most games then gets better as the game wears on and finds ways to win. At some point it’ll catch up with them, but until then they’ll be rated high.

It is possible that we are seeing some
parity in the Big Ten this season. There
really is no one team that really stands
out yet. Michigan St. has 3 losses and
started out as #1 in the nation.

terps might have been rated too high, but psu has got some talent.

There's not a lot of separation between the top and middle of the league.

I won't be surprised if psu knocks off any of the other big boys.

This is it right here.../\.....just watch out when you play a true road game (not a neutral site) in this league and take on some risky playing in unfriendly confines??

This same PSU team who loses by 32 on the road against the Buckeyes and looks like a different team tonight at home. Though OSU looks damn good and did beat a talented UNC team in Chapel Hill. Michigan, not so much and lost to Louisville in a true road game for them and then #1 Louisville loses to Texas Tech tonight.....hmmmm? :) We'll see what happens when Big Blue plays in Champaign tomorrow night but I suspect this inconsistent play in true road games is going to continue because of the parity in this league? Wisky beats up on IU by 20 in Madison and now IU is up on UConn in the second half by 8 (neutral site)....go figure? We'll see what happens to Wisky when they play at Rutgers tomorrow night?

He's had leg issues plaguing him for years. Had surgeries on both legs this fall and was to be out at least 4 months.

As a life long Hawkeye fan who lives in Virginia (UVA season ticket holder since 2006) I bought four tix to the Iowa-Penn State game on January 4 in the Philadelphia Palestra. I didn't expect much from the game but it was a chance for my boys to see the Hawks live for the first time, and I've always wanted to see a game in the Palestra.

The way both teams are playing, it's starting to look like a better and more significant game than I expected. Palestra capacity is 8,722. I hope we're not the only Hawk fans there!

Hey, HawkeyeNYC, you did the right thing, and you and your family may be in for a highly entertaining evening of basketball with the Hawkeyes having a reasonable chance of coming away with a big win. Have a great time at the Palestra. We'll watch for ya on TV. ;)

Welp.....yea......It's about getting away from friendly confines and playing true road games.... there's the risk, there's the inconsistent play.
