Matt Campbell is ISU's next coach

It's Iowa's Super Bowl. When they lose it, they want to fire the coach and eliminate the series (again). Look at this year: They went undefeated, and they're still yammering about the ISU game.

I do remember them putting a lot of emphasis on the game at least one year. Moved the trophy cases, hung up ISU posters all over the football facilities, etc.

Become a good football program and I'll eat my words. Iowa plays better MAC teams. Do I think the coaches and players want to win, yes. But I bet they put in a little extra time and work when they have to play Wisconsin, Minnesota, or Nebraska.

I think that's the other way around. The only thing Hawks fans r complaining about is having to play ISU every yr. It's more like Iowa's toilet bowl every yr. The Hawks can't get any kind of respect even if they win the game. But lose all kinds of respect if they lose the game.

Yeah. A few years ago, one of the Iowa players was quoted about how they work on ISU in the spring, and in the fall before the week of the game.

Agree.... Very smart move. I wonder how long Pollard has targeted him... Meaning how long has he been on Pollard's short list that supposedly all ADs have in their back pocket...

Pretty sad when clone fans have to troll the Iowa site and cut down the Hawks when the last time ISU had good teams is back when Johnny Majors and Earl Bruce were the coaches. Pretty bad when ISU fans look in their trophy cases and only see reflections of themselves staring back .

Not really sold on that hire. They needed someone that built a program from nothing, not someone that took something over that was good and kept it good.

Time will tell though. Going to be really hard to out recruit Iowa in state and the rest of the Big 12. You are already at a disadvantage with not a lot of talent super close to you; similar to Iowa.
