McCaffrey From Nebraska: He Gone

I'd take him here in a minute....if....he agreed to switch to WR. He's definitely not a QB, doesn't have the build as a RB. I think he could be a very solid WR. His Dad was a pretty decent WR
that's the problem Daddy wants him to play qb.

He's a receiver, not a qb

Typical Iowa fans not seeing the big picture. When you have a roster filled with elite talent kids transfer. Logan Smothers is the next great Big Ten QB.

I want to make sure I understand, last year 20 people left because of the elite talent.... and that elite talent went 3-5. Got it. They did catch a break with no Troy on their 2021 schedule.

Are you talking about the Florida recruits who never made to campus or the ones that did, but have already left?

Wait, much of what you said may or may not be accurate, but you are saying that your second string quarterback wasn't a threat to even the 4th or 5th string quaterbacks? He got all of the snaps that Martinez didn't take in 2020, but he's not better than the 4th or 5th string guys? If that is true, UN's coaching problems are even worse than it appears.
You are correct

Meh, you guys are reaching on these ones. These losses dont matter.

McCaffrey is a good athlete, but he's not a QB. If he doesn't want to switch positions, its not a loss. I would want him if he switched positions, but he's not a QB

Farniok - This is good attrition. He is not good. Maybe he can find a spot at an FCS school. Was never gonna play.

Warner - He had 6 catches for 40 yards last year and got benched in the middle of the season. Seems like he was a good locker room guy as he was a captain, but he leaves Nebraska with 30 catches for 236 yards in 3 years.

The next thing you Little Debbie fans are gonna tell us is that you will break your streak of 17 consecutive seasons with at least 4 losses.

You do realize that all 13 conference teams consider losing to Little Debbie a bad loss, correct?

You are the snack cake of the B1G. Miss the Big 12 yet?

That may be the case, but it does not make the head coach look very good when the guy who The coach had claimed was the future of the program leaves. Frost just insinuated last week that McCaffrey had a chance to the the starting quarterback next year. He was probably trying to keep him on campus, but that does not inspire much confidence in the three year starting quarterback who is returning for his senior season.

Lol imagine spending hours a day worrying about a 4 game "streak" for Nebraska. What a pointless dumb stat that you think is relevant. Kirk has been coaching for over 20 years at Iowa and has ZERO outright conference titles. Zero. And will stay Zero until he retires. No one cares about ties.

So backups with experience don’t matter? So couple these with other recruits/players either didn’t make it to campus or left very early doesn’t matter? While they may not be starters per se they did play, 2 of them significantly, plus Robinson leaving and all the Florida recruits. Sure it leaves room for the underclassmen, but they are leaving, too or aren’t being developed.

So someone on pace to be the all time leading receiver leaves and it’s no big deal because people like Captain Warner are there, then Captain Warner leaves and it’s no big deal. There are some issues with the coaches ability to find players that ‘fit’ and to be able to develop and/or keep highly rated recruits. The only consistent thing is the fans inability to be intellectually honest about what is going on.

Michigan's last National Championship was in 1997. How was Nebraska's season that year?

That's called coachspeak. I wish McCaffrey would have stayed and moved to WR. I think he would be a pretty good one, but he's not QB at the P5 level.

One guy with 5 receptions as a junior and a junior lineman that played in 4 games over 2 years, is a big deal?

Let’s see if we can phrase it differently ‘when someone called the ‘future’ and a captain of the team leave it may be a sign’

I'm just talking about these 3. Since the end of the season, the only guy who left who has been a loss is Robinson. During the season, the players from Florida leaving is concerning. Id imagine some is COVID related, but that needs to be sorted out.

The rest of the guys are positive attrition.

Farniok - He's never gonna play at Nebraska. He just keeps falling further and further behind on the depth chart. Maybe an FCS level player

Anderson - He was always a project. He just didnt work out. I think he just has a high metabolism or something as he cant keep on weight.

Boe Wilson - Was a Senior, so he could have come back. He started some games 2 and 3 year ago but has been passed up by Freshemn and RS Freshmen. Pretty much everyone expected him to transfer as he wasnt getting alot of PT

Kade Warner - He is a former walkon who was benched for poor performance. He ws a good guy, I dont want to crap on him, buts he not really a good player.

Green - Not int he rotation, passed u by others

Then Nebraska added an FCS All American who probably could have gotten drafted and a RB from USC that USC didnt want to lose, but he left as they run the Air Raid there so he wasnt getting touches.

ALL in ALL, the net positive from the portal outweighed the losses since the end of the season.

It's AT LEAST 4 losses for 17 consecutive seasons, Little Debbie fan. Get it right.

And its a pointless, dumb stat?? LOL The media keeps bringing it up, but you call it pointless & irrelevant. How stupid are you, really???.

You're so dumb. Based on your logic, Little Debbie can't claim a 1997 National Championship because they tied with Michigan! Because, after all, no one cares about ties!! Your words, IDIOT, not mine!

Just when I thought you Little Debbie fans could not get any more stupid, you surprise me & show that it's possible.

You and your football program are irrelevant. But, hey, keep hanging on to that red balloon of hope.

If McCaffrey didn't insist on playing QB, I would love to have him at Iowa in some kind of WR/RB utitlity role. But he obviously didn't want that. I saw his brother is transferring too. I wonder if there is some plan for them to play together somewhere or if they both want to be QB so they are going to different schools? Watch McCaffrey go to OU and Riley turns him into a Heisman winner in a few years.
