Meaningless Bowl Games

Sooner absolutely suck.

Good thing the school is making big $$$ in the SEC because they're going to be replacing Venables after next season.

In fact, between USC and Oklahoma, both might be.

So far the "meaningless" bowl games that I have watched have been more entertaining than the first round of the College Football Playoffs. Six overtimes in the Pitt/Toledo game today and the Rutgers/K State game is fun so far. Anyone else agree or are you only interested in the games that could lead to a national championship?

I’ve watched maybe 2 minutes of the playoffs so far. I just don’t care and clearly didn’t miss much. Due to having a little more time I did enjoy the Rutgers game last night and the armed forces bowl today. It is a bit of a bummer that none of the traditional bowl games are on NYD this year. Citrus, Outback etc… are all being played on New Year’s Eve instead. Guess I will be forced to watch the playoffs on NYD because what else would I do?

You can tell Venables knows his job is in jeopardy. Few coaches get that upset playing in a Tier 3 bowl game.

Losing to Navy... a team with no passing game...LOL

Navy almost had a passing game. Twice OU got beat deep and a decent throws to the WR/TE would have scored. OU needs to learn the term "stay deep". Picked OU to win but happy for Navy. Great finish to their season!

Also, Navy should have had a flag after the play for celebrating. I'm sure thats what BV was complaining about and he should. Roles reversed and OU is getting flagged.

It appears that Oklahoma lost that loving feeling

Even the Winter Classic is on Tuesday. I've taken the 1st off work for my entire life. This year I took the 31st and will work on the 1st.

Seriously?? Damn. CFP playoffs are ****ing everything up. Welp, I just changed my plans. Treating Tuesday like NYD and going to lounge all day and going to go skiing on NYD.

GT getting screwed hard by the refs.
GTs OC running Haynes 4 times this half is criminal. They deserve to lose. Guy goes for 10 per and they handed him the ball twice in the 3rd Q and now twice in the 4th where he picked up 30 yards. Then they put the backup in and he fumbles after a guge gain. They are gashing them on the ground.

Yeah, they completely lost their shit after that horrible missed kick catch interference call.

Said it many times. I love the bowls. People who hate them hate college football imo. It's matchups that you don't see any other time of the year. Many times the games are close and the teams get chippy. Toledo rushed the field 3 times yesterday. Tell me it didn't mean anything.
It didn’t mean anything lol. I don’t “hate” the bowls, I just don’t care about them. Been that way for a while. The playoffs are the future. Bowls will slowly fade over time.

The playoff games so far have all been blowouts, while most of the bowl games so far have been very competitive.

Gee, I don’t know. Do something else that you actually enjoy I guess? lol

Apparently you missed the point but yes, that is exactly what I did as I posted in post #62. I will be out skiing New Year’s Day. First time I haven’t watched college bowl games for n NYD in probably 40 years.
