Meanwhile, in Nebraska...

Leave them alone. Their schedule has been tough. BYU and Miami both look very good.

Also, from what I noticed, they would have won that game had their WRs caught the ball. That really hurt them in the 1st half, and when they needed to keep a drive alive.

This, it was very clear that Miami was the better team. They seriously shot themselves in the foot towards the end and it was just ugly. They had two TD's called back in the second half and if very easily could have been a blowout if they wouldn't had lost their discipline.

Where did skirt fan little red run off to?

South Alabama was a good win too because they have a bunch of UAB and Alabama transfers.....just ask them.
You did read all the posts on here about how good the Illinois State win was right? Sorry, but we can't have it both ways.

He's either on here running his lil' Red mouth, meanwhile wishing he was a Hawkeye. Or he's on the Nub board shouting how much Nebraska sucks, meanwhile wishing he was a Hawkeye.

It's nice to have some sanity on this board once in awhile. Nice post.
We can when talking about Nebraska. No matter how anything goes, Nebraska is always in the wrong. Mike Riley is too old to have to deal with Nebraska and I feel bad for him. Poor Pelini, a good man at heart, was completely downgraded as a human just from being there as along as he was.

I mean look at Kaczenski, he went from bad to worse whilst there. Here he just yelled at players in a mean way. There he beat his wife, had temper tantrums in restaraunts, and almost completely lost his mind.

Nebraska drives people crazy.

Angry hawk fan is not a good look. Nothing you stated above makes sense.

This has been a weird year for the Huskers. Pelini didn't recruit that well, and it's really showing. Especially on the D side of the ball. They can't get a pass rush to save their lives now. The offense has really started to grow. All of a sudden Armstrong gets some good coaching and starts playing really well. I was so critical of him before the year it wasn't even funny, but I'm really impressed with his play and leadership thus far. I think Mike Riley can do some good things here, they just really need to recruit and get some playmakers. The divided fan base is driving me crazy. I'm sure you guys know a little about that with KF. But I suppose that's always going to happen. We've had a divided fan base since they let Solich go in 03. Great win the other night against Pitt. Man, Kinnick was rocking. That QB is the real deal. Hopefully they'll get it together before B1G play, and especially Black Friday. Good luck this weekend. Go Big Red.

LOL, every team would have won if their receivers caught the ball, if their backs hit the right seam and if their defense shut out the other team.

What ifs and woulda, shoulda, coulda don't count...

They lost and while you are playing the woulda card, IF Miami woulda finished that game like it played the first half, it would have been an embarrassing blowout for nebbie. Maybe by 4 or 5 tds.

I just do not understand some of you posters, you start with a rant against woulda, shoulda, coulda, then finish it with your own version of woulda, shoulda, coulda........It is mind numbing.

Do you feel better by shitting on Nebraska?

You guys are crapping on the wrong team. We need to crap on Wisconsin.

Read much? I clearly stated "WHILE YOU ARE PLAYING THE WOULDA CARD..." just to illustrate how ridiculous that is.

Language, language, lanuguage, stay classy nebbie fan.

This is a forum, I can crap on anyone I like. I actually Like Whisky.

I didn't actually. Probably because if I saw that in a thread I would just not read it knowing it was going to be idiotic.

Me too, but I work with some rabid UNL fans.

I know Husker fans can be annoying...trust me. I get annoyed with our fans all the time. But sometimes we come over here for some good football talk. Plus it gets me away from all the Pelini talk. Good gawd that gets old.

I see. One of my good buddies is from there and he's a huge Husker fan. I have never had an issue with any Husker fan I met in person. Nice folks. But online, there are some dandys. But that goes for any fanbase. And I thought Lincoln was a very cool city.

Only the rabid ones really bother me. I can't tell you how many times I have been asked "why do you cheer for Iowa? They never win."

I often say- It is easy to cheer for a winner, fans don't have to win all the time, sometimes fan loyalty can't be measured in W's and L's. I think my level of loyalty, especially in the face of mediocrity... actually annoys them. They don't get it.

Yup, even when Iowa sucks, I still cheer for them.

I don't know if we're the best 1-2 team in the country but I think we're ok. I like our team outside of a few weak spots that are razor thin (lb, de, te).
What really makes me laugh is the people blaming Armstrong for the loss. If it weren't for him we would of lost by 30+. The kid is really playing well and has benefitted from some good coaching. I think we improve a lot as the season goes along and by the time the season is ending we could be playing some really good ball. I don't know about winning the division but I still think we have as good of chance as Iowa, Wisconsin, NW, or Minn. Just my homer opinion.

Good start to the season for you guys btw.
Armstrong is a gamer. I watched the better part of the second half of the Miami game, and he is the ONLY reason Nebraska was in it at all at the end. That and the fact that Miami...well...is Miami. They are undisciplined and play like thugs. Yes, the pass in OT was a terrible pass. But mistakes happen. I still think Nebby has talent and will be a player in the Big 10 West. Also, I am as excited as anybody about Iowa's start, but it's still too early to break out the bubbly. We'll know a heck of a lot more about our team after our date with the Badgers.

I have to say Armstrong has really picked up his game. Last year he as a 50% passer (including interceptions) and this year he's a 60%+ passer (still including interceptions). Throws a good ball but still has periodic bad decisions.

BYU and Miami are average to above average, about like Pitt. The good thing about this rivalry though is now we don't have to bitch about schedule strength and transitive property outcomes to guess who's better. This is first year since Nebraska joined the conference that I FULLY expect to beat them. And I think it will put us in Indy.

You state, incorrectly of course, that BYU and Miami are about like Pitt, then you state that we don't use "transitive property outcomes to guess who's better." Common people read your posts before sending them. Additionally, you did not fully expect the hawks to beat those corn chuckers when they were down to their third string QB in 2013?

I was just stating the relative strength of the teams' schedules, which won't matter one bit when we play head-to-head. As for the 2013 game, I didn't know they were going to start their 3rd string QB, I thought it was going to be the back-up which was Armstrong IIRC.

At some point you must have asked yourself, who the hell is Ron Kellog III.

Well several of his interceptions weren't necessarily his fault in the Miami game. One was a receiver running the wrong route, the other was a vicious hit that popped the ball up in the air as it arrived to the receiver.

Armstrong still has his bad moments, but he has made very good strides in the passing game this year.

I found a shot of the tweet

here is the screen shot i found. It doesn't have the entire quote about living in the past....crap

Can concur. Went to several games in Lincoln and fans were cool. Even in 80s in my bosworth jersey bandana and boz haircut. Cheesy yes but hated nebraska that much. Fans were great.

Internet fans are idiots and that's where those fans belong

Be ranked? You're 1-2....it's going to take more than just beating Wiscy to get you ranked.

I was talking about Iowa, actually, but I don't think I'm wrong if Nebraska beats Wisconsin (and their next opponent AND Illinois) and is 4-2 with a three game winning streak and a strong position in the West conference at 2-0.

One thing is certain. Iowa needs to go to Madison and win this game or its CCG chances are looking dismal. Fortunately, Nebraska gets Wiscy at Memorial Stadium and there is no Melvin Gordon- although Stave is looking a little scary against our pass defense as of late.

Aha, I don't like donuts.

Can't wait to see how the Hawkeyes do this season leading up to the game with Nebraska. Could be one hell of a game. I still see Nebraska coming out on top at this point.
Typical Nebby comment. Step it up-more is expected of you than that.

BTW-Armstrong always chokes in big moments!

See ya in Lincoln-GO Hawks!

I'd say that win over Georgia in the bowl game a couple years ago was a good example of Armstrong not choking. He also helped us score 42 points in a 3 point, contested loss against USC. At around this time, an Iowa team not all that dissimilar to this one was taking on the Tennessee Volunteers in a memorable performance.

Look, I understand your urgent need to take this 3n0' Mo and run with it but some of these comments are ridiculous. At this point, you're trying to decide how bad you'll lose to OSU (or MSU) in the CCG based on beating the clones and edging out Pitt at home.
