Khary Crump had agreed to plead guilty after being caught on video swinging his helmet at a Michigan player. He had been facing a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon but is pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault/battery and “person-jostling.” I had never heard of that charge before but there it is.
Crump was required to write a formal letter of apology to the Michigan player he assaulted. All charges will be dismissed and his record cleared once he completes the terms of his probation under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act.
