Kemerer is #2 seed and has Cullen Cummings (Ohio) in the first round. Tsirtsis is #3 seed.
Skyler St John has a bye, then #1 Berger (Nebby) in the second round.

165 is out:
#7 Gunther bye.
#9 Marinelli bye. Has Clayton Bass (SIU) in the second round.
Young bye. Has #14 Petersen (ASU) in second round.

At 174 Meyer is #2 seed facing Dean Sherry (Rider) in first round. Zahid Valencia is #1 seed, Weatherspoon is #2, and Brunson is #4.

Nate Jackson the #5 seed could see some fireworks there with Brooks. I think Brooks wears him down, Jackson is extremely dangerous tho.

Assuming Ross Larson advances will Sam see him tomorrow?
I believe they wrestle through the quarters on first day, they have the first two rounds in the first session, then quarters in the evening, then Semis at noon the 2nd day, finals in the evening. Not sure exactly which consolation rounds are with which session.

Nebraska got some NICE draws. Still trying to figure how 157 worked out the way it did. With no Clark and depending on how far they let Vader(Stoll) go Nebraska could win this.

I am surprised at the limited amount of marque match ups with the amount of ranked teams in attendance. Even without Clark, Iowa should run through this tournament.

184 is the only weight that screams premier match ups. With Brooks and Jackson as the 4 and 5 seeds, respectively, this weight is super deep. The only other weights that are even slightly intriguing are 133(Richards,Montoya, Gross and Hall)141(Kolodzik, Jack and Ashnault), 174(Valencia, Meyer, Spoon and Brunson) and 285(Medberry and Hall give us enough to see where Stoll stands).

Obviously, it is luck of the draw for individual brackets to have top ranked guys hit each other based on the teams that attend. I am just surprised that there is such a gap in rankings between the top seed and 2nd seed in several weights.

125:Gilman is ranked #1, Lambert is #8
133:Is Solid with Richards#2 and Montoya#4, and Gross#6 should be able to prove he belongs with a good tournament.
141:Kolodzik#3, Jack#5 and Ashnault#6 should show 141 is a deep weight class Nationally.
149:Sorenson #2, Oliver #6. The gap is HUGE here.
157:Super weak weight. Hopefully Kemerer dominates.
165:Martinez#1, Glass #7, Walsh #9, Valencia #12. The only intrigue is how much revenge IMar gets on Anthony!

174:Valencia and Meyer are intriguing only because we either find out that Valencia is a true NC contender or he will be fighting to AA along side Meyer.
184:This is a great weight and reminds me of what Midlands was like at nearly every weight. The top 5 are legitimate studs and even #6 Gravina is a R12 type guy. Hopefully Brooks wins here and uses it as a stepping stone to proving he is the guy to challenge Dean!
197:Ouch! This will be a very hard weight to watch!
285: With Medberry being the clear front runner to meet Snyder in the Finals, how Stoll does(if he even wrestles the whole tournament) will give us a great gauge.

I will be watching because I am a wrestling diehard, but I don't remember a Midlands with less marque match ups.

I remember being at Midlands when Terry lost walked right by our group pulled off his 2nd place medal and threw it in the trash.
Mmmm.. I thought it was a plaque, but I do remember thinking that was very considerate of them to put a trash can within @ 30 feet of the medals stand so Terry could storm over and slam it.. it was epic...

Reddogg26 pointed out that Nebby has some pretty good seeds. Assuming they can wrestle to seed they will be right there...
