As was Beathard
Beathard’s mobility left him injured his last 14-15 games of his career….He got hurt ar Indiana his “junior” year and never ever fully recovered. QBs that run, run a risk of injury….nagging and/or traumatic/chronic. Beathard’s was “nagging”…..McNamara’s was traumatic/chtromic. Banks was pretty much healthy for a season. Coaches have preferences that have to be considered. Plus, coaches have the final decision. It is whatever fits the coaches “comfort level”………….

In the alternative and fearing injury, you could play a cement-booted QB 100% of the snaps and allow opposing DCs the luxury of simplifying and focusing their scheme to position additional resources to stuff the RBs and freely blitzing the QB, having one less potential threat to prepare for or worry about

hopefully we can afford one
With the money teams need to even retain their rosters I have a feeling a lot of guys won’t be getting as much as they think they will get… others will get a ridiculous amount.
Gonna be a lot of players enter who are salty about getting recruited over.

I don't know who most of these QBs are. I do know one...Salter. He can turn a good team into a contender immediately. I've no idea if Iowa lands a QB or from where but it'd be nice to get Salter. Pipe dream. He's going to get some major suitors.
