Minny, put in Garza!

Luka's Minnesota Timberwolves have swept Durant, Booker, Beal and the rest of the Suns out of the playoffs 4 games to 0.

Luka's stats in this series:

3 min in Game 1 (MN won 120-95); Luka had 5 pts, 1 reb

2 minutes in Game 2 (MN won 105-93); Luka had no stats

A few seconds as the game ended in Game 3 (MN won 126-109); Luka had no stats

0 min in Game 4 (did not play; coach's decision)

Chuck just said this is one of the best defensive teams he's ever seen.

Minny leads at Denver 61-35 at the half. Minny has led by as many as 28.

Minny's D:
9: Denver turnovers
28.6%: Denver 3 pt shooting
32.6%: Denver's overall shooting

Great to see Garza out there. I hope he can continue to hang in the league. Minnesota has been great for him, but he's going to have trouble getting minutes on a depth chart with a 3x DPOY (maybe four tomorrow), a two-time All-NBA player, and the reigning 6MoTY. He seems to be a beloved teammate.

I wish he could find more minutes anywhere

I heard that his teammates love him!

This series is over.

Wanted Nugz to win it all but if they can’t Minnesota is the only other team left I’d want to see win it.

We deserve to win a championship in some men's sport up here. It has been far too long for the Twins, and I'm convinced the Vikings and Wild will never get the job done.

Honestly, this seems like a great situation for him.

He's never going to be a regular rotation player because of his defense.

So many people were tweeting about Garza getting into the game, the genius AI over at X wrote this headline.

If Luka had played 30 years or more ago he would have been in the hall of fame
If he played 30 years ago I'm not sure he would have developed into such a great 3pt shooter but yes if you put him in the 80s/90s nba with his current skill set he'd probably at least be a borderline all star.

If the Wolves win it all what is the payout to players and will Luka get a full share?
Unlike most these players it could be significant boost to Luka's income.

Here were the odds on Oct 19, 2023.

So, if you had bet $20 on the Wolves winning the title and they do, you'd win $1,200.

Good chance he ends up getting a ring here. I believe the Celtics are still the betting favorite right now and the T Wolves will definitely have a tough series w/Oklahoma City. Good stuff.

Not an original thought but holy shit how good the Vikings would have been if they didn't do the Herschel Walker trade.

The Viking's front office incompetence deserves credit for those three Dallas SB wins in the 90's. Worse than the Timberwolves Joe Smith debacle that cost them three first round picks.

Yes, Emmitt Smith, Darren Woodson, Russell Maryland, and Kevin Smith would have come in handy, not to mention players they gave up like Jesse Solomon.

The Timberwolves were routed by Denver tonight on their home floor, 117-90, and as a result, Minny put in Garza!

Luka's stats:

6 minutes (of 48 possible)

2-2 (100%) FGs

4-4 (100%) FTs

8 Points
2 Rebounds (1 Offensive)

0 Turnovers
0 Fouls
Strange, losing like that at home, but Jamal Murray produced where he didn't in the first two games. He's had a strained left calf. Wolves have a 30-11 home record this year.

Did Murray look limited at all to you tonight? He seemed 100% to me. Calf injuries are always worrisome because somethings they lead to Achilles issues, which is the last thing you want to rupture.

Granted, the Wolves head coach ruptured his patella tendon and from what I understand, when that happens, your quadricep rolls upward and it's really, really painful.

I think the Wolves win Sunday, probably lose at Denver and then win in Minny to win the series 4-2. We'll see.

Luka was the Wolves' 5th Leading Scorer last night.

Look how he compared to the Wolves other 3 centers.

19 in 37 min: Anthony Edwards
14 in 33 min: Karl Anthony-Towns
10 in 30 min: Mike Conley
10 in 22 min: Jaden McDaniels
8 in 6 min: Luka Garza
7 in 21 min: Naz Reed
6 in 27 min: Rudy Gobert

6 in 26 min: Nickeil Alexander-Walker
4 in 6 min: Monte Morris
3 in 13 min: Kyle Anderson
3 in 6 min: Josh Minott
0 in 8 min: Jordan McLaughlin
0 in 6 min: TJ Warren

Granted many of his minutes are in mop up time but he is one of the most efficient scorers around

LOL, do you really think the Vikings front office would've been smart enough to draft those players even if they had the picks?

For all of the T-Wolves fans out there, I want to apologize. The moment I really took notice of Anthony Edwards and started tuning in, they lost 2 consecutive games.
Edward's might legitimately be the most talented player to ever play the game. He's on that trajectory.

It amusing to watch the wolves struggle on offense when he doesn't take the shot. They just haven't come to grips with the fact that he should be shooting almost every trip down the floor because he's almost unstoppable.

He's not on that Jordan Kobe mindset level yet to where he demands the ball on every possession, once he figures that out its over.

He's so fun to watch. So much for it being KAT's team.

Anthony is starting to take everything more seriously; he now eats right and takes care of his body

The Wolves surely won't blow that 2 games to 0 lead and lose this series...right? ;)

I really want to be angry with your for that, but with apologies so rare these days, I just can't be. Also, at 59 years of age, with 51 of them being a Vikings fan, I have to admit that I often wonder whether it was my becoming a fan that cursed the Vikings. If it is me, then that probably covers the T-Wolves and you'd be off the hook.

We can't have nice things in Minnesota while I'm around.
