Styles make matchups. I think he would have a really hard time with Steveson, just because of how well he moves and changes levels. Hendrickson wrestled a great match against Steveson, but I still think he is quite a bit behind him. I would think Mocco would beat Hedrickson 2 out of 3 or maybe 3 out of 4...
I agree that steveson would be the tougher match up here in general. I was leaning towards 50/50 on mocco/Hendrickson but your odds may be more accurate. Hard to say. Mocco was a beast.
Mocco was just so physical and he was a goer. If he got taken down late like Steveson did, he was absolutely getting back up and out there. By many accounts, Steveson didn't put into the season what he should have and he got what he earned. I don't want to take away from Hendrickson by any means, but Gable hit a wall against him that I don't see Mocco ever hitting. Mind you, he went into marathon OT matches with the behemoth that was Konrad and simply lost to an immovable MASSIVE object. I think the active way Hendrickson wrestles would actually play into Mocco's strengths rather well...
I truly feel that the Steveson vs Hendrickson match was an absolute fluke. I hope they wrestle a few times in freestyle because I think Gable will tech him every time they wrestle.
I don't know about winning by TF, but I definitely think Steveson is still a very strong favorite moving forward. Motivation is the key. If the accounts are true that he was barely practicing, then he got what he deserved. As great a talent as he is, this sport demands hard work...
Yeah, that is SO TRUE! That was one promise my mom made me try my hardest to follow through on. It was impossible not to end up with some, but I did a pretty good job keeping my word! I also lucked out that I have rather small, closely cropped ears. Someone like David Taylor had NO CHANCE protecting those windflaps!
