Moderate Nikki Haley

I can get the idea of not wanting to vote for someone because they aren’t X…but Trump as always is a special case. If nothing else, if you want to see the GOP try to reign in the MAGA wing, Trump simply MUST be defeated in November. Otherwise, someone like Haley simply isn’t ever going to get the nod.
Truth in that.

Here's the thing. I think Harris will be a train wreck president...just at a lesser scale.

I've always been a lesser of two evils voter as I don't like either party much. Had no problem voting for Hillary and Joe. Kamala? Not so much...

If you say you aren't, fine, convince yourself that leaving the POTUS line blank isn't a vote for Trump in Florida, especially with women's health care on the ballot.
In regards to abortion...abortion is on the ballot here in Florida so it's really not a presidential issue for me.

I’ve said many times that Harris wasn’t my first-choice back in ‘20, and Biden was well down the list as well. No idea whether she’ll actually be good as POTUS or not - if past was indicative of how someone would do as POTUS, picking nominees would be much simpler.

Haley probably is calculating how active to be in the campaign.

Deep down, if Trump wins, Vance probably has the big edge for 2028.
Trump loses and it's her and RonnyBoy as the leaders for 2028.

And she'll need MAGA then.
You mean if the 2024 election is stolen again, just as it was in 2020. The only way Trump "loses" in November is if it's stolen. We know this because he told us. Which means Donald must run again in 2028 to avenge TWO stolen elections.

Name some that you are concerned with.
post 55.

I'd also like her to go into depth on her plans for U.S foreign policy since that's the thing the executive has total control of....specifically in regards to Israel/Ukraine/China/Taiwan

I've never heard her go in depth on the subject.

Maybe not for you, but it being on the ballot could well affect turnout, voter enthusiasm, so to say it’s not a presidential issue isn’t accurate to me. A large part of the reason imo for Harris’ surge these past few weeks has been the increase in enthusiasm from the Democratic base now that they have an alternative with a pulse. We saw in ‘22 especially and elsewhere that when abortion was on the ballot, that boded ill for republicans.

Maybe to some extent but abortion consistently polls at about 15% in terms of issues important across the board.
And I think that many will separate the vote for abortion rights from the rest of the ballot.

Perhaps, but that’s not been the case since Dobbs for any other election.
Florida has a demographic that leans older. Fewer voters are of an age where reproductive freedoms are needed.
I’m voting for the Amendment but then again I am and have always been for freedom of choice and MYOB.

Yeah, I don’t expect Harris to win, wondering if the senate race is competitive tho.

From a Democratic perspective, even if they don’t win, they’d really like it if GOP is forced to spend valuable resources to defend Scott vs being on the attack elsewhere with it being a bad senate map for democrats.

Scott will be re-elected.

I expect that, my question is if the race will be competitive tho, to the point that they have to spend more resources there than expected.
Probably not. There seems to be more of a focus this year on winning more seats in the State Legislature. Money is being spent there at higher levels.

She will. You have to remember that her campaign is just 3 weeks old.

But she’s been part of the current Administration for three and a half and has had a front row chair in world events.
Her avoidance will become an obvious target pretty quickly.

I think it's safe to assume many of her policy ideas are similar to Biden's. That being said, I'm sure she has some differing ideas that we will most likely hear about at the convention.

It's a lot more than fracking Tom. She said she wanted to decriminalize illegal border crossings, get rid of private health insurance and go to "medicare for all", get rid of (re-imagine) ICE, mandatory gun buy back for "assault weapons"...I'm probably missing a few but it's hard to keep up.

It's not unreasonable to expect her to explain the policy shifts.
Yeah, bins, those are terrible. Lol. All of them are in the Democrat wish vein. You’re pretending to care.

:D
Doesn’t make her wrong. What did she say that’s inaccurate? I mean, sometimes you’re right. 😃

Not voting for Trump but I need a little more than "she isn't Trump" to vote for her. Sorry.

Good synopsis of Trump answering questions, sure would be nice to juxtapose that with Harris. I suspect she'll do an interview sooner or later...I don't expect many tough questions, if any. We'll see.
She will continue on doing what Biden has done. Congress will check anything she might want to do that frightens you. Democrats still play by those rules. Republicans won’t.

Trumps garbage but at least he takes questions. We can dissect his answers and make judgements accordingly.

No such chance with Kamala.
Would you rather have a candidate not take questions, or a candidate take questions and just spew bullshit and lies?

Once again, your "both sides" bullshit gets so old when you're constantly bitching about one side only. Get a new schtick man, you'd be a good poster if it wasn't for this bullshit every single damn day.

Depends on who controls congress...and FIFY

She's said repeatedly that she wants to toss the filibuster in the Senate.

Here's the thing though. Trumps bullshit and lies when answering those questions gets dissected. Conversely, Harris answers no questions. Just sayin...

Ms. Haley is providing a message that is quite urgent.

Trump needs to talk issues/taxes/economics/inflation/immigration/Fentanyl/Iran ... and on and on. The people who care about this stuff are going to vote en masse and if he starts talking about their issues, they will also attend his rallies ... en masse.

His point that Kamala is not the brightest is fine .... ONCE!! Now it is out there, and it will likely stick, as she is likely to continue with her dumb and word salad like comments. Kamala is not blatantly dumb; she is simply lacking knowledge of things that matter. Her political style is closer to that of Susan Rice and Hillary Clinton than is comfortable for most people. Make that an issue!

She has fooled a lot of people for a lot of years as have the two I just mentioned.

Beware!

... and heed Ambassador Haley! She is not gunning for an appointment; she is trying to help!

Everyone should want their candidates to give interviews and take questions from the press.

Rewarding her for avoiding that isn’t a good thing.

It tells you a lot about the presidential options, when the best strategy is to close your mouth.

When doing interviews is more likely to torpedo your campaign, you aren't a good candidate. We desperately need better options and will have to wait until next election cycle.... AGAIN

Kamala has come from a self-contained bubble that’s pretty much an echo chamber of progressive liberal ideas. Her sudden flip flop on her former positions reflects first a shock at what the centrist rest of America thinks. Then a realization that her long held stances won’t necessarily fly with a majority of voters. She should have been moving to the middle over the last three years but the wave of wokeism and ultra progressive themes have helped her delay the realities she’s going to face in the next 83 days.
Of course Trump might end up handing her the election if he cannot control himself.
