I side with Ferentz winning the titles, but I think it is close. In my opinion ISU is one of the most difficult jobs in all of D1. What coach Mac did was impressive. Not even close. Winning the league is what the goal of the season is. Not winning 6 or 7 games so you can go to a bowl.
While I greatly appreciate what Mac did, and I agree ISU is one of the more difficult jobs in the country. it will be a long time -- if ever -- before anybody matches what Bill Snyder did at Kansas State. That was a considerably tougher place to win than ISU. Granted, the Wildcats don't have the problem with KU than ISU has with UI, and they are better situated to get talent. But they had no fans, no history of winning, horrible facilities......that was the one place a Cyclone fan could look to see a clearly worse situation. Not no more.I side with Ferentz winning the titles, but I think it is close. In my opinion ISU is one of the most difficult jobs in all of D1. What coach Mac did was impressive.
Incorrect. Everybody hated to see it happen, but practically everybody knew it was necessary.Iowa State made one of the dumbest moves in college football history moving Mac down the road. Ames ain't no Columbus, Norman South Bend or Tuscaloosa.
