At the time I was working Masonry and I could tell you about a half dozens stories of people that were affected. Area I’m in? People were actually designing their areas despite of Covid but trying to convince themselves they were aware and sympathetic of it.

Jersey is a ****ed up place.

That is funny as I have heard so many of these agencies have about the same amount of workforce as 20-30 years ago.

I will look for those numbers. But I do know that our population sure has increased.

I have coded since the early 90’s and it is crazy how good AI is getting. I used it some last week and it was like having a mega brain sit next to you.

It’s great for generating snippets of code to show you how to do something you are not familiar with.

Tracking ‘government employees’ isn’t going to show the same thing as those employed by the government. So much is turned into third party contracts managed by a government employee.
My program has less than two dozen government employees, but the 22 teams we contract with have close to 400 total employees, ultimately paid by the government.

Federal Government is reducing their butts in seats and so is every other major company, Amazon, AT&T, etc. AI and the robots are going to do the work. IMO we're not ready for what is to come. Folks will have to take the crap jobs and probably 2 or 3 of them just to keep up.

It’s a fact of life / work and I don’t have any problem with it happening in the federal government. How they’re going about it though is reckless, ill conceived, trashy, and petty. This was just a massive budget cut with little thought of the end result.
Trying to fulfill a campaign promise after gailing so badly on the 2016 campaign promises.
