I’m starting to think it’s more of a way to give a check to every American like the proposed $5000 check I’ve seen floated around.
This would be the dumbest thing yet as it will do more harm than good. Unfortunately a lot of stupid people will see this as free money and love trump for it.

America was actually winning in the 90's... 12 years of Reagan/Bush Sr to get the decade started, and the tech boom/internet... the economy was HOT. And Clinton's rhetoric on the border sounds much like Trump's. Things took a turn with Waco and the other shooting in Montana or wherever and then people started to distrust the institutions, the OJ trial... and then 9/11, OEF/OIF, Afghanistan, Covid and now we have the tranny stuff.
Respectfully, republicans started the movement in training people to distrust the government with Reagan’s famous line about the most terrifying words being “I’m from the government and I’m here to help”.
Started with JFK murder, Vietnam mess, and then Watergate.
Trust was out the window after that stretch.

To be fair, the left has their own issues with the government. In the last few years I've heard people on the left say the constitution is racist, was written by and for white supremacists and slave owners, the police are racists and spend their days going around looking for unarmed black people to kill, math is racist, covid was racist, healthcare is racist, climate change is racist.
I'm not sure either side really thinks the government is here to help.

Yep, wife got let go as a round of covid cuts, was later rehired but it's been a hot mess at the company ever since. Ok...tell me how it affected you. In ANY way. We had friends who worked in downtown NYC on 9/11. No idea what building they were in. No idea if they were safe or not and couldn't contact them until the next day. We knew people who died of covid. My niece was an ICU nurse working 70 hours a week and crying when she had a few free minutes because every time she went back to work, somebody else had died...and they just kept coming. The son of our best friends was deployed to Afghanistan. I have quite literally NEVER had an issue with any transgender person. I do have a gay niece (a LEO) who's married and raising two great kids. I have a gay nephew who lives with his partner in Denver. Wonderful people.
