My son got married to a beautiful girl, at a beautiful venue, on a beautiful day on the Chesapeake Bay yesterday. It was a very emotional couple of days, but we are overjoyed. Just wanted to share.

I have come close to tying the knot but have never gone through with it. Have been with my current girlfriend for over 6 years now. Ugh. Might be getting close to that time.
I don’t like it. I want to see how it all turns out and then I start thinking about years and doing the math. 🙁

Kent Island (right across the bridge from Annapolis.) Really cool place called Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. When they chose October I was worried about the weather; because while they have the option to move indoors the ceremony is primarily setup to be outdoors. But it was picture perfect all three days we were there.
I don't envy the expense you have in front of you! For this one the bride's father foot probably 70% of the bill. Our no-pic daughter (25) will probably elope if we know her...

Art, we went to a family wedding over on the eastern shore a few years back. I had it i mind as the setting for my antimillennial screenplay I'm writing. But it is indeed beautiful, particularly for those of us in the east who don't often get to appreciate "the horizon".

There is a very wide range. The bride’s father paid the lion’s share. I would guess all in they went a little north of $40k. Rehearsal dinner for 30 and reception was 80.
They are Catholic, but non-practicing, and her single sister is in NYC.
