A Hawk fan from the future materializes in front of you tonight and informs you that the Hawkeyes men’s team will only win one of the next two games. Before he can tell you which game they win, he vanishes.

Which game do you hope it is?

Even though winning @ Wisconsin is the best option of the two, it would really be a huge letdown if the Hawks can get a win in Evanston tomorrow evening and then lose to one of lower third teams in the B1G, even on their home floor.

Especially when Iowa should have some payback on their mind after losing that OT game in Carver to the Badgers back in early December.

There is that, but a loss @WIS could be a borderline Q3 loss. Likely already have one of those, thanks to the early December game in Carver. (IDK what Wisky's NET is)

Also, Hawks have a good number of Q1 wins already.
It would only be a Q2 loss @Wisc

So it’s a choice between a Q1 win/Q2 loss or Q2 win/Q1 loss. Add in the Badger hate and it’s a close call

While the answer to this question is Wisconsin 99% of the time in any sport, NW is the right answer this time imo. Not only is it a Q1 opportunity, but a win gets Iowa closer to a double bye in the btt by virtue of NW having an additional loss, plus it gives us the tiebreaker over them. A lot of teams are going to finish at 12-8 and 11-9, and not much will separate the 2 seed frm the 8 seed.

The only correct answer to "who would you rather beat" is always going to be Wisconsin regardless of the other option.

Unless it's football. Then the only answer is Nebraska.
Jonesy 💯 correct again! I declare jonesy with the right answer to the question!!!!

Damn it, I think this might actually be the right answer. 🤔

It has to be a win against jNW because it may be a quad 1 win when all is said and done, it brings the hawks closer to being in 2nd place in the Big regular season standing, and the way Purdue is choking, as someone on here predicted, the hawks might win the league.

And believe me winning or tying for the Big regular season crown is huge and I think a 10 times tougher thing to do than win the tourney.

I think finishing 2nd will be a BIG Big 10 accomplishment

Iowa REALLY needs to find a way to beat @Wisky now.

If not, they will likely be nearly officially out of the running for a Top4 BTT seed.

They're not winning @ Indiana and if the offense doesn't show up, they can very easily lose either or both the final home games, too. [MSU & NEB]

Really debating watching Wednesday night now, especially when expecting another very frustrating road L.

Why is the Iowa game almost ALWAYS put in the last B1G slot available on weeknights!? 8p CST start time yet fukking again.

Really tired of having to waste time purging the built up energy after Hawk games so can go to bed late for the following work day, be it either the good or bad kind.

We're going to get beat by Wisconsin on Wednesday night too, so it really doesn't matter, I hate losing to both of them, but Iowa and Fran has wasted having the 3 best players that have ever played at Iowa in the modern era and continues to teach crap defense in the name of playing up tempo basketball. Iowa has lost at least 10 games every year under Fran except 1, no Big Ten regular season titles and no sweat 16 appearances in 13 years. There's a reason men's basketball games doesn't sell out and you can only look directly at the head coach and see the reason why, there's absolutely no connection between Fran, the team, or the students.
Was just at Scheel's today and looked for some basketball apparel and found practically none at all. Lot's of football, wrestling, and everything in between but basketball related apparel, not a chance. 13 years after Fran became head coach and Iowa basketball is a not even a blimp on the Iowa radar.

I said earlier in this thread that the Hawks' resume could better survive a loss @ N'western more than a loss in Madison. (just wish the loss hadn't been so ugly)

Please shoot better than Sunday night and win tomorrow night, Hawks.

For much more important reasons than just "F* WISCONSIN!!!", but that's a pretty great reason as well.
