I definitely love the tournament and what can happen, but it has been fairly boring as far as major upsets go IMO.

Yes, MTSU beat Minnesota and USC beat SMU. It also looks like Rhode Island is going to beat Creighton. I wouldn't call any of those major upsets to go crazy about though.

Maybe the night games will have a shocker for us.

Boring because there have been no major upsets? I think there have been some extremely exciting games that have gone down to the wire, like any year.

I don't know, maybe I'm just happy because my bracket is doing very well right now and I picked Mid Tenn, USC, Xavier, and now Rhode Island correctly. This is the first year in a long time I haven't felt like throwing my bracket away by midday Friday. I've only gotten two games wrong so far, so yeah...okay, I'm gloating, but still, this is exciting. A lot of great games with more to come.

Good for you, the two biggest upsets for me so far are, Minny losing and Creighton losing, howevver I think both of those have their best player injured.

Springs was not Minnesota's best player, although losing him obviously didn't help.
Springs was a BIG loss, but Mason actually played the game with a bad hip and clearly didnt look right. Middle TN outplayed MN and deserved to win the game no doubt.

It feels like an upset-laden tournament has been a myth for quite some time now.

Why are the Kansas fans on the other side of the bar going nuts while their team is up 40?

I think the first round is a bit over rated. Occasionally some big upsets but often many blowouts. Usually more good games and big upsets in the second round. Should be a fun weekend

yeah the media over hypes upsets and cindarellas. I will use the ISU Nevada game for example. Nevada had played one top 25 team all year and got beat handedly but many people were still picking them

seems to me that the 13-14-15 seeds normally keep it a little closer vs. the high seeds even if a lot of them end up losing, at least there is more suspense/upset potential.

Most of them are getting blown out this year with the only competitive games being the teams that are the closest seeded ie: 8-9, 7-10.

Minny should have been more like a 7 seed than a 5, and MTS should have been at least an 8 seed, not a 10. Springs might have been the Goofers best perimeter defender and was missed, but he was their best player.
