Nebby 1-0?

That is an interesting article but Akron can't help the weather. Yes, nobody walked away injured but Bowden and crew had 0 chance to evaluate their team. That's why you play these early games other than the money. Nebraska should pay Akron at least a good chunk and be done with the situation calling it a no contest.
Nebraska should pay the full guarantee and get ready for the next game. If they can schedule somebody for their open state to make the season total 12, they should.

Same as for Iowa State. And if we're going to visit the fantasyland described by the writer, in the case of ISU-SDS, both teams had a full possession and the score was 7-0.

Maybe ISU and Nebraska can play each other on December 1st. Neither are going to win their divisions, so no need to worry about conference title games that week, but it could play a role in who makes a bowl game. ISU would get screwed out of a home game, but if they don't refund for last week, they'd have their extra home gate anyway. Not sure what the protocol is for a cancelled game that already started.

I don't think the state of Nebraska could handle getting beat by two Iowa teams in a row.

We better slow down before we start making too much sense. Both schools will want a home game so will probably schedule some sisters of the poor squad during their bye week (ISU/Neb bye weeks are a week apart). But this is a great solution if they are both need that 12th game.

The other hang up is they can't just schedule any school open on the same bye week unless that school only has 11 games on the schedule. Can't just have a money hungry school play a 13th game for the check.

To be fair (note the word "to"), Akron didn't 'bitch out' (are you 12?), they couldn't find hotels (fact). Nebbie wanted to turn the circumstances into their advantage and have them stay in dorms and get harrassed by students and then play a 1030 game the next day. Let me ask you...would Nebbie don't he same if the shoe were on then other foot? Nope, and you whiny bitches would cry the whole time about unfairness, like you are now. Win something, anything, then maybe fans of real programs will listen instead of treating you like the children you are.
There were no hotels for them to stay in. They didn't want to stay in Omaha. Nebraska offered what it had available: dorm rooms and it would provide catered meals. This situation is far from ideal, but Moos didn't need to disadvantage Akron in order for the University to come out with a win over a school they were a 24 point favorite over. Get real.

When stuff like this happens, it is very hard to move the game time ahead, especially when the forecast called for the storm to arrive around 9 pm. It's not so simple during the week to just move the time up. Fox wanted the game at 7pm for a reason - because they wanted to capture eyeballs. Any way you look at it, it's a logistical nightmare. So get off your high horse about how low Nebraska stooped to try to create an advantage.

"Win something, anything" - Nebraska has won as many B1G West titles as Iowa since joining the league.

Real programs? There is a reason FOX put a 4-win B1G team against a MAC opponent at 7pm as their feature broadcast instead of another B1G West team who was also playing a MAC opponent. There is a reason that same 4-win team is playing a 5 win team at 2:30 pm on ABC this weekend.

This. It’s not like the storm popped up out of nowhere.
People don't seem to understand or care to have all the information. It LITERALLY materialized shortly before it caused a problem. It's not like this storm was being tracked from a thousand miles away. The storm that was being tracked was the one expected to arrive in Lincoln at 9pm.

People who blame the administration for lack of planning have zero understanding of the logistics involved in moving up a time. It would have had to have been decided a week in advance.

Folks, this is how far mighty Nebraska has fallen. From national championships to looking for ways to put a W next to a game against Akron that was never played. It’s almost hard to believe the extent of their decline.

Akron is soft, but we don’t need a free win. I want to play Liberty our BYE week on October 27 (they play NMST twice... why?)
