Yeah, when I saw that asshat call the ice-out, and then bitching about the kick-through as delay of game, I smelled the desperation. I watched enough of Rhule, in-person, at Baylor, and I’ve never understood anyone’s fascination with him.

I know he was just trying anything for his team, but look douchebag, if you’re going to call a timeout in that situation then the attempt is happening.
Yeah, the hawk long snapper snapped it like 1 second after the timeout was called and props to our holder and Stevens for going thru with the kick.

I actually do think that a flag should be thrown there. But they never, ever do. And this I was worried the first time it is ever flagged would be against our beloved Hawkeyes. Btw - what would the penalty be for that?
The hawk long snapper snapped the ball about a second after the timeout was called and whistled so no way they can say delay of game when that could have actually been the time they were ready to snap it. You cant stop that process in 1 second.

Also unless they wait 10 seconds how is that delaying the game? It's a minimum of 30 seconds for a timeout, up to 90. That's an overreach penalty if I've ever seen one.

It’s mindboggling that there are husker fans are arguing that it wasn’t a fumble - replays make that obvious.
Dumb people and shortsighted people have a hard time changing their mind when presented with visu al and other amounts of evidence. There are many times I see something I see called wrong and then I see another angle and it proves my first thought was wrong, and I accept it.

Then there are many other times I see something I think was called wrong and I and many others are with me and we are right.

Yeah, they probably have about 50 footballs ready for play on the sidelines. haha you are so right

Color guy….”oh, no.”

That’s definitely my favorite! LMAO
Their whole program is conditioned to make excuses:
1. Ravioli pointing to the ground implying he was down. Nice try.
2. MR crying for a delay of game flag.
3. Their announcers hoping for a swirling wind prior to Steven’s kick.

I could forgive Raiola in the moment believing he was down. Should stop once he saw the replay however.

Rhule wanting delay of game on that is objectively ridiculous; that’s something that happens every time and NEVER gets called.

This is just not fair. They were asking what the wind was doing. They expressed no “hoping” of anything.

I saw a game between a couple of garbage, loser teams. One that's overhyped and thinks it's on the climb and another that's just flat delusional and sucks so hard it has to be seen repeatedly to be believed.
yet you watched the entire game.... thanks for helping with the ratings. I bet if you were choking at the dinner table your family would not perform the Heimlich on you would they ya miserable f*ck.

It's a rivalry game that clearly matters to both fan bases. Get over it.

I still crack up thinking about their fans storming the field after winning 6 games….how pathetic!

They need to print T shirts that say ‘the Race to six!’….🤪
Iowa fans were busy laughing at lil nebbie for thinking they were special this year.

Damn, BB would have looked good in a Central uniform…he’d have been the second or third best d-player to ever wear that uniform, too! Stories (reliable sources) say this damn near happened , too. I live BB as a coach…even at Illinois.
BB is a walking heart attack ready to happen.

He needs to get on Ozempic

Also, isn’t it a dead ball on timeout? So what exactly is Drew Steven’s delaying by kicking it?

The replay on TV showed the lack of control and Iowa coming away with it, but what happened in between is conjecture.
There is one angle where you know the ball was loose and can see both Raiolas hands in front of him, before he reaches back to try and grab at it.

Clear fumble & Iowa recovery with proper video replay angles.

Even my bride said..”the ball is clearly ‘out’, there is no doubt it’s a fumble”…I learned a long time ago, never argue with her..and honestly, it was never in doubt after seeing the replay.

Luv the outcome but no not clear. He clearly fumbled. Only the qb based on the angle unless there was another knows.

Anything else is being a homer but in this case its OK.

Raiola actually put his full weight on the ball, even elevating his legs. His body was up the thickness of a ball, and Lew finally got it pulled out.

I believe after review the fumble and Iowa recovery call was "confirmed".

Yes, but one team is 8-4 and won ten games last year. The other team, sucks again.

Yep. Iowa makes winning a fair amount of games feel like barely survivable, miserable garbage and Nebraska IS miserable garbage.

None of us should be wasting time on either of these teams.

Nebraska fans should use this opportunity to recommit themselves to the arts, philanthropy, to nature... to Buddhism, optimist clubs, bird watching and poetry. 95000 people staring at flies on a decomposing horse corpse and yelling? It's dystopian.

Exactly. Kind of like a foul being called in hoops and a player still shoots the ball right afterwards.

Got to love Dolph but really miss a drunken Eddie P, his disinterest in being there was so interesting.

Dolph is paid to be terminally upbeat. Eddie, these past few years, had a difficult time hiding his disdain for our offense. Just like the rest of us.

Historically, Eddie P played on some pretty juiced up offenses at Iowa under Ray Nagle. Except for playing the 2 powerhouses, and Mich wasnt great in the 60's, the hawks would move the ball and score points.

Then Eddie P is on some dynamic KC Chiefs teams with Hank Stram's offense. So I can understand why Eddie was getting negative and it you could hear it in his voice.

And who makes you watch it, or comment on it? You should find an activity that makes you happy. Certainly Iowa football DOES NOT.

Agree.
Ridiculous to expect the long snapper, holder and kicker all monitoring the Nebraska coach to see if he calls a timeout one second before the snap.
Any such timeout should occur before the players break huddle or line up in formation.
