Nebraska Facilities

Memorial stadium is one of the best stadiums to watch a game.

Aren’t more than half of the seats in the end zones?

For the last two Iowa games there we’ve sat on the east side on the club level between the 40’s and obviously those seats are fantastic, as they would be in any stadium. I wouldn’t pay for most seating at Memorial, though.

Corner end zone luxury seats?? I live in a van down by the river as well.
.......
No i never ride in the corner end zone seats. You might as well stay home. I do like regular south end zone seats in Kinnick though you can really see the blocking from there.

I think you have to take into account that nebraska may have just gave up at the end of last year. I expect them to be much more competitive this year. And much improved on offense. I was shocked when they hired riley knew right away that was a bust. Frost is a good hire for them. And maybe even for the big ten.
Very rare seeing an intelligent comment on this board. Well done.

I agree, Riley's coffin was nailed shut due to the abysmal 4-8 record last year which happens to be the worst since 1961 and his overall record at Nebraska was 19-19. Riley's is a career .500 coach as everyone easily knows by his career record. I'll go on record by saying, I'm definitly not a fan of Riley but do not dislike him one bit. He may have had a terrible record here which did him in. Forget about the W-L record for minute and lets look at the other side of this, Riley in my opinion was actually the right hire when he came in and I'll explain why. Riley is widely considered among the most respected and well liked coaches, not only his colegues in the coaching community but beat writers and sportscasters as well as everyday people. The reason he is that well liked isn't because he's considered a gimme win on Saturdays, it's because the man is as genuine as it gets as corny as some of the things he does or says. This is why I believe he was the correct hire, as we were still in the wake of the Pelini shitshow which created an extremely toxic environment and atmosphere so bad that going back all the way to 2012 as it had the players completely divided. Pelini created an us against the University, our own fanbase and the world mentality which was evident when he told our fanbase to go fk itself back in 2011 after The Ohio St game. Pelini's outbursts on the sidelines while sometimes violent, he humiliated not only the University, but the state as a whole and Pelini didn't care one bit as he dared anyone to do anything about it virtually and verbally. Although I cannot stand Eichorst, I tend to believe he did what he though was best for Nebraska by making the hire that he did as he was witness to the full toxicity and stench that Pelini imbeded in the program. Riley actually had a hand in righting the ship to say in changing the mental makeup of the players when he got here as he is the polar opposite of Pelini. Had this not happened, Frost wouldn't be here today as the toxicity was that crippling it would've virtually made the players uncoachable and unteachable. Riley's approach was one of gentleness caring and compassion. The bad thing though is he let things get out of control, by allowing his players to miss practices and meetings as well mandatory meals and let accountability go all to hell which is inexcusable. Riley came in at the right time and because of the change in the mindset and overall attitude of the players he inherited, Frost had almost immediate buy in from pretty much the whole team and that is why the players have been getting after it intensly not just because they were humilited last year, but also the players mental state under Riley as well players saw what Frost did at UCF and the way he treated and interacted with his former team. Riley wasn't very good coaching the X's & O's and showed to be lacking in the ability to holding his coaching and strength and conditioning staffs to accountablity as well as player accountability. As far as a genuine human being goes, that's a different story. IMHO GO BIG RED

What makes facilities great at Nebraska? They are big? They have a lot of weights? Cool TVs on the wall?

This is just another thing that everyone has caught up to Nebraska with and another reason they are pretty much mediocre nowadays. Nebraska is barely hanging on only because of the success 20 years ago. And in another 10 without any improvement they may be irrelevant.

Maybe Nebraska can brag about the old strength and conditioning coaching back in the day? But everyone has caught up with that too. And I look forward to putting up another 300 yards rushing on the blackshirts this year.
Zach Duvall was an assistant S&C coach under Boyd Eppley back in the 90s during our glory years. Duvall also graduated from Nebraska

You are a true idiot and don't know anything about this. The facilities had nothing to do with why Nebraska is mediocre (at best). If you're going to spout off you could at least try to get it right. I agree everyone has caught up in facilities. 300 yd rushing days for IA are a thing of the past. I hope you enjoyed them.
Okay then Husker fans are no longer allowed to use the term "facilities" anymore. Because that used to be one of their only pitches you'd hear fans throw out. Unlike Iowa where we can say we will send you to the NFL.

And is Scott Frust some sort of defensive guru that brought alone new defensive players with him? Because Iowa and Wisconsin still have the same big offensive lineman. And lets just wait and see if he can keep the Ohio State game under 60 points.

I agree with this. Send them recruiting letters saying, "We currently have one more player in the NFL than Nebraska". That'll turn heads.

Memorial stadium is one of the best stadiums to watch a game.
When I was there in 2011 I was seated direct behind a giant support column. I couldn’t believe they actually sold those seats or had such a poorly designed upper deck that obstructed the view of those below.

I enjoyed the Runza though.

Respectfully disagree. Even season ticket Nebraska fans will tell you their corner endzone seats are terrible.....and they are! The only bad thing about Memorial stadium. I like it when we make them sit on their balloons for a couple of quarters.

I wish they would do away with that tradition. Hey everyone! Let’s throw a bunch of garbage up in the air and NGAF where it lands! I have zero obsession with Nebraska and find most of these threads childish, but that is an archaic tradition that needs to end.
