Nebraska's Berger has a message for Brands:/

Don't really have a dog in this infighting, but I will say Big Slick is a long time Iowa wrestling fan whom, as far as I know, has attended damn near every NCAAs cheering his ass off for the Hawks....

Now, back to the pissing match!

I agree with bss that azchief guy gets on my nerves, what's he ever done besides serve his country, love his family and entertain the heck out of me.i am calling president trump to get a wall built around iowa to keep that clown out.

It's too late. He's in……

And Chief might owe me for that fact. I moved out of Iowa awhile back and I'm guessing he's the guy who Branstad chose to take my place.

So is it safe to assume he went to all those NCAA's by himself? ;)

He tweeted it. Sorry I don't know how to place a pic in the threads. His twitter account is @husker_157

Also sent a message to Kemerer on twitter with just a date...February 12th.
Good fuel for kemerer. Time to get to work.

As an aside... loved Montoya's interview after Midlands. Real tough guy talk.

Guessing he's part of the Nebraska mafia.. err.. good fellas!
I like his interview - he acknowledged that he was tougher and meaner than Richards and that he will know where he stands after he wrestles tommasello and Clark. Hope Clark smashes him but the kids gotten tough.

Just my 2 cents on the original topic. Unlike Willie's comments about the Berger Tweet over on the Cross face thread, I think it's shameful when an athlete calls out an opposing coach. Having respect for coaches and officials is a basic tenet of amateur sports. That this was allowed post match, and not addressed is just another step in the wrong direction when it comes to using sports as a teaching moment for acceptable and unacceptable behavior.

Whatever his issue immediately following this match, it falls on his coach to address it. Since he was allowed to address it himself, why not then take to twitter and do it again.

I don't know Berger, other than to watch him wrestle, and he's a really good wrestler, and I don't know Manning, but I hope someone in the program is addressing these issues. Young athletes make mistakes, but good leaders need to make sure they learn from them and they are not repeated.

Have you met him?

I remember Slick as a bitter Hawk hater from posts made a long time back. And that did surprise me a bit. He's the proverbial snake in the grass if you ask me.

Probably a good idea to discourage college athletes from using social media as a mouthpiece from a personal perspective. I would make it painful (i.e. a teaching moment) if one of my athletes called out an opposing coach on social media.

LOL We're facing a brave, new world these days, Col.o_O

Not trolling. I think you misunderstood my post or maybe I wasn't clear. Kemerer will win by a larger margin next time and should celebrate Gilman style. (Not trolling on Gilman. He's my favorite Iowa wrestler)
 My bad. Misread. (Read twice reply once?) Carry on

The Nebraska dual was in my book just another dead body on the pile of wins for the Hawks. Ho hum.. Yawn...Now since the tweets and Berger and Montoya antics not only do I know the date of the dual but I will buy tickets to hopefully watch us kick their assses right out of Carver Hawkeye. Keep the entertainment coming. That crap sells tickets....

@TerryBrandsUSA Happy New Year! If you celebrated as much as you did after your boy squeaked by me you're probably a little tired rn rest up

Ballsy...

Credit for finding the tweet goes to @IAwrestle
Great news for Iowa, our ticket sales just went up by 2000.

I'm missing where Montoya did anything towards Iowa that was bad? He was in a pic that Berger posted and said he'd evaluate where he was after wrestling Cory, in fact said there a lot of tough guys who needed to wrestle yet and put Clark's name in there. Berger on the other hand seems to be either trying to be funny which it isn't working or completely off his rocker. I would assume the later.

You won't think so when the Huskers put a beat down on the PSU pussycats Sunday.

Not that it was necessarily "bad", but in the tradition of questionable social media behavior by NE wrestlers, Montoya tweeted "Not impressed by a certain Hawkeye's performance" after Cory won something like 6-1 over an average opponent in a dual meet.

Just adds to some interest in the match-up, which was a good one in the first place, although Clark's injury probably takes some luster off.

Sure, except Lambert can beat Suriano (coming off a loss to Lizak), Gulibon can't beat anyone let alone McCrystal, Nolf doesn't tech, Cenzo doesn't major, Barnes beats Morelli, Dudley beats Nickal, and Nevills doesn't major and may not even win.
