Everyone takes a "stand" on the border. You just don't like the stand some take. And those various "stands" run an entire spectrum. You want it to be black or white because you and yours think so simplistically you might as well be five-year-olds.
I'm on record here saying there needs to be a consensus on trans athletes going forward. That will require discussion where everyone gets a say. My own thought would be individuals can compete in individual events, but they can't get an official result in the competition. Teams that play a trans-athlete wouldn't be able to count the results. No idea if that is viable and I don't really care because on my list of issues, that would be in the fine print on the back of the last page. It sure as HELL wouldn't impact my vote when someone like Trump is running.
This is 100% spot on and pretty much my exact feelings. This is not the America I want. What a disgrace. I feel saddened that the America we have all known and loved will never be the same and it sucks.

I was in complete disbelief in what I witnessed yesterday. Woke up this morning feeling a little sad knowing our country is swirling down the drain but hopeful that maybe some people were finally opening their eyes. It was completely disheartening to see that this nonsense seemed to embolden the maga crowd even more. Unbelievable. I even saw one posting viktor orbans support of trump like that’s a good thing. What I have come to realize is that the only opinion that matters to these people anymore is the opinion of the Dear Leader who despises Zelensky who he blames for his first impeachment. It doesn't matter how outlandish or ridiculous or petty it might seem. Orban is a hero of the right, much like Putin soon will be.
For the record, Biden was in clear decline and his refusal to acknowledge it, along with democrats’ refusal to make him come to terms with it will be IMO his lasting legacy.
Also, I didn’t stand behind Biden. I don’t care about him one way or another personally. In fact I think he’s a little prickly, and I don’t think he was a particularly great president.
What I stand behind are most of his policies, the people he put around him, and that I think showed great character and why his administration was ultimately successful.
Now, did he blow some stuff? Yeah he absolutely did. Afghanistan and the border I think are his two big failings.
What I think America is SORELY lacking is vision and leadership, especially from the centrist left. It’s all reaction and it has been for basically 10 years.
I am not ashamed to be an American. Let’s just be honest, this is a different America than the one I was born into and the demands of the American people are different.
The values I think defined us since WWII are now gone. We need to come to terms with that and some of us need to figure out what to do about it.

We need a real middle class warrior party. Strong on economic growth for the middle class. Strong on the border, but less interventionist. Puts Americans first, always

America’s middle class has become less tolerant, and least knowledgeable of what America has stood for, for over 200 years. We have become less trusting if our neighbors, and much more suspicious of our valued institutions the past 40 years. It has allowed us…in fact demanded c us to become more dogmatic and tribal in all our views. This is not the nation my parents have left us, post WW2. All the stuff my parents warned us about, that we disregarded abs rolled our eyes at…well, mom and dad were more right than we were it turns out.
Putting Americans first can mean dealing with diseases and hunger overseas. It can mean confronting tyrants who invade their neighbors so they can be contained. The idea that the US is some kind of island is idiotic and has created massive problems for the country every single time it's been pursued.

Look at how the demographics have changed, if you think that isn’t a factor, you are mistaken. Diversity for diversity’s sake is constantly pushed. When you look at the most successful, happiest nations, they are more homogenous, more unified. That’s not American nature, it’s human nature. Getting back on point. We still need a party that favors the middle class over the rich and poor.

While I agree that our needs must come first, I think total foreign aid amounted to less than one percent of the total budget.
That info would move a smart person off their mark. But someone who bases their vote on a handful of trans individuals who want to play games...probably not.
