If and when the the little 12 dissolves and the BIG absorb some combo of Oklahoma, Kansas and maybe a Virginia from the ACC I could see the BIG remaining a two division league or splitting into four minus. The most likely being the first.

In this scenario I would just reassign a few spots which would never happen.

East
Indiana
Iowa
Maryland
Michigan
Michigan State
Ohio State
Penn State
Rutgers
Virginia

West
Illinois
Kansas
Minnesota
Nebraska
Northwestern
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Purdue
Wisconsin

Highly Unlikely that Okie State would be invited but I had to even out the league. Love it hate it or blah, it would be interesting nonetheless

I know Iowa in the east doesn't make sense geographically but it's just what I'd like to see. Thought I'd preface that before I get the " huck huck, Iowa is obviously a western school dummy...... "

Virginia and UNC will be harder to poach since the ACC extended their GoR for another 20 years.

OU, KU, and Texas. Two of those I think are really the only options in the near future.

Like I said it's a personal preference and would rather play the bigger brands than keep some of the old rivalries. I really enjoyed the Penn State series.

This is just my view, it will never happen. The only games I would miss would be Wisconsin and Nebraska, don't really care about Minnesota, Northwestern or Purdue and Illinois.

I'll take Ohio State, Michigan , Michigan State and as I said Penn State.

The Floyd of Rosedale (in my biased opinion) is the coolest trophy/story in the nation.

I see your point but Texas is too big of a headache
I don't see them giving into the BIG demands in profit sharing. The G.O.R is a big thing but with the amount of money the BIG is going to take in I can see a deal taking place if any of the ACC programs really wanted to see. Heck the ACC and BIG already do business in basketball with ACC/BIG challenge.

I fully admit to not knowing the intricate details of any of this so it's all just speculation on my part.

I see your point but I'm not a huge trophy guy unless it's a conference, Heisman or national title. I'm also not a coach or player so my opinion on that is irrelevant .

Did you come up with these divisions by picking schools out of a hat?
Yes. I was gonna go with the awesome name like .....uh oh yeah leaders and legends but it seem contrived. So I went with East and West.

Question, is it the divisions or the expansion teams you think are random? Not attacking your view, just wondering what seems so odd other than Iowa being in the East.

Like I said it's just a thought from a random message board fan. I'm not Boren or Delaney......

No GoR has ever been challenged that I know of. It would be very interesting to see if they would actually hold up if the B1G came calling for Virginia and UNC or Ga Tech someday. By then the B1G might be rolling in so much cash that they might just be able to pay the ACC.

I'm just gonna leave it up to the dude with the polished forehead. He's been doing pretty well in my book.

It doesn't matter if I'd love it or hate it ... I'd be absolutely shocked if it were to happen. Firstly, neither Kansas or Oklahoma are populous enough to open up big enough markets for the B1G. Secondly, Oklahoma isn't a member of the AAU.

The only non-AAU member that the B1G has ever made overtures to is Notre Dame (to my knowledge). On the flip side, Notre Dame has been improving its research profile AND it is national draw in terms of markets.

The dream scenario for the B1G is to add Texas and Notre Dame. I'd rather not have any expansion ... but if expansion were to occur again for the B1G ... it would most likely involve a legit mover and shaker.

Based on your divisions, I would swap Iowa with Purdue moving the Hawks back to the east. This would keep the geography, the west rivalries and I think even out the sides strength wise. I get a little tired of everyone talking up the East and downplaying the West. Having to play Oklahoma, OK State, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Northwestern would be more then a daunting task each year. I would say every bit as tough as playing Ohio State, Michigan, MSU and Penn State in the east.

Your scenario would be ideal, however adding the two most pigheaded self inflated athletic institutions to the BIG is not going to happen unless Texas drops their Longhorn network and Notre Dame drops 100 years of elitist attitude.

I agree they are great schools, unfortunately they think they are beyond everyone else. Nebraska had no huge populous when they were invited in either. Oklahoma football is a brand like Kansas basketball(doh). Kansas is an AAU member. Oklahoma State would be the add on to Oklahoma.

I see your points, I just don't think they're enough to keep those schools out. Just my opinion.

Never been to an Oklahoma game. Their stadium looks disjointed as heck. I'll ask our BIG brethren Buckeye fans how the stadium compares. I would ask Cyclone fans but that's assuming they had enough fans to travel there. Almost forgot to ask the Cornhusker nation.... I'll leave that one alone
