Jaevon McQuitty, 4 star wide receiver tweeted out that Iowa got a new commitment (clarifying that it wasn't him), but then deleted it. Djimon Colbert then tweeted out "big day" and McQuitty tweeted this...
So, my guess is Colbert committed. If so, that's a really good get. If he could get McQuitty to commit that'd be huge as well.

Great get! Now we need Colbert and Epenesa to put the full court press on the st Louis duo McQuitty and Graves.
Graves-KC, Mo. McQuitty-Columbia, Mo.. Colbert is "closer", being from KC, to Graves, and possibly McQuitty, than AJ.. I get your overall point about having these two possibly"help" in the recruitment of Graves and McQuitty, though.

You're right. My bad. Graves would be a huge get with AJ. He's a big athletic freak at end just like AJ but he plays left side opposite AJ. They would make a dynamic pair of ends the likes of which we haven't recruited to Iowa in some time. We've had great pairs of ends obviously, but none with the raw athleticism, size and potential of AJ and Graves.

Graves looks like type of player that could move inside. Epenesa is an freak and will be a dominant player for Iowa. Think he starts as a freshman and will be an All American kind of player at Iowa.

Welcome to ;Hawkeye Family young Mr Colbert.

Iowa Hawkeye recruiting Momentum is really on a ROLL!

Graves is NOT moving inside. Way too explosive. He's 6'5" 220 and runs in the 4.7 range. Very quick first step and he's an end without question. He's the perfect compliment to AJ. It's vitally important we pair AJ with someone at the other end spot who is dynamic and commands attention. I think we'll be really good in the middle with Lattimore in there and I think we'll find us another really good d tackle prospect if for some reason Juan Harris doesn't make it. When we're locked in at defensive line, Iowa football is really really good. This has a chance to be as talented a group as we've had IF we can just secure that end spot opposite AJ.

Interesting note from yesterday, Kirk and staff offered 4* SG Jordan Goodwin whom already has an offer from Fran. Will be interesting to see which sport he chooses to play in college. Rivals has him listed as an athlete

That could be a very good d line. Trevor trout tweeted about how he and Juan Harris talked about teaming up and playing at Iowa. Trout is a beast. 4 star by scout and 247. Wouldn't shock me if he ends up a five star.

Agree on Trout. Kid looks like a monster.

I seem to remember you also said either Nelson or Hesse will be moving inside now you have Graves moving inside too....lol Dude just STOP cuz you don't know what you're talking about...smh

FYI, Colbert is from KC. McQuitty is from Columbia and Graves from KC also. They are not from St. Louis.

Colbert is a great get. He will be a versatile DB, could be a safety or corner. Another DB I hope the Hawks can also add is Ben Stewart from Indy. That young man brings a load, what a hitter.

Ambry Thomas. Look him up fellas. He's out of Detroit 4* true corner. Ball skills like Dez but quicker at the same point in high school.

These posts will never cease to bother me. There's someone not familiar with Kirk who predicts each year that some kid will start as a true freshman. Unless there is a gaping hole that won't happen. And quite frankly I don't see it as a good sign when a freshman starts regardless of the position. Remember DW and Keenan Davis - super talented WRs and they didn't start in their first OR SECOND year.

Talking about freshman receivers with good years makes me think of Dominique Douglas... dang it.
